Deflated after our end to the season, not expecting us to win any of our play off matches.
That's not helped by hearing that Bamford is out, but felt Joseph would be a good replacement, but farce selection means beefing up midfield with Gruev, Tamara and Gray in middle and Rutter up top.
Seemed to struggle to get out of our half at firsthand Norwich looked like they could be really dangerous on the break.
Early on Gnomon gets hauled down, surely a penalty or at least a free kick but ref completely misses it.
Meslier's distribution started badly and got worse......why oh why does he do short kick down the middle to collague with opponents right behind him?
Rodon was really effective in defence, Ampadu hardly noticeable but that which he did he did really well, but I reckon Firpo probably had his best game defensively for us, thought he was really solid at the back for us.
Faced a few corners and when we clear there is no one upfield. Gnonton and Summerville are shorted on pitch, not going to be heading clearances, so why not have one or both of them out of area looking to pick up clearances?
Summerville lots of touches but all felt a bit tippy tappet around their penalty area and apart from one shot from side not that much to show for his possession.
Rutter was a shadow of himself but Grueve and Kamnara solid, with Kamara getting forwards more and now we're not getting over-run in midfield.
Gray was quiet and we looked comfortable but uninspiring.
Anthony and Piroe on for Gnonto and Rutter.
Anthony just didn't look like any end product and Piroe hardly touched the ball, nobody looks like their best form right ow, except for Rodon and Firpo and byroad deserves mention too for some good work up and down the pitch.
Good to see James back.
Nothing to write home about but avoiding defeat away from home is a great result considering our form.
Please Farke, find a way to use Joseph on Thursday!

My thoughts from today are with the lad who was knifed after asking people to show some respect rather than disrespect to the memory of Chris and Kevin.
Shameful.

Absolutely disgusting.
Ban all Norwich fans from ER - if only for their own safety …

On holiday and couldn't watch it so had to listen on the radio via Talksport app. Sounds like we were the better side in the second half but got battered in the first. Think id go with Piroe and Joseph at home and rest Rutter. Not been the same since the injury.

Anyone feeling more confident after that display yesterday? I thought we looked the more likely and ran out of ideas after half time. I get the impression they will sit back and try to catch us on the break in the home tie, but their away record is poor and we have a great chance to win this tie at Elland Road.

Think we’ll do it easy on thursday.

The major marked improvement we all saw yesterday, thank goodness, was the solidity and balance of the midfield.
We had been crying out I think since Watford away for a 3rd traditional midfielder in the side to stop the opposition cutting through us so easily and sure enough Norwich hardly layed a glove on us.
This is the Championship where being workmanlike and a tough nut to crack may not be pretty but ultimately as long as you have 3 capable forward players you will be challenging for promotion.
What's gone before has gone but that midfield yesterday I think gets us at least a point at Coventry and QPR , a win against Sunderland and Blackburn and a point against Southampton and 98 points
So going forward I too see a fairly comfortable victory against Norwich even if it's only 1 nil I think our midfield solidity ensures we hardly give Norwich a sniff while at the other end when the conditions are cooler temperature wise and backed by our amazing support then that to me is another reason one of our forward players, Summerville, Gnonto or Piroe I suspect will be the chosen 3 on Thursday night, will be successful infront of goal at least once.

We dont know the full story regarding the fan who was injured and there is some dispute over police statement, but no fan should be in fear for their safety at a football match.
I hope our fan recovers I hope the perpetrator's are identified, prosecuted and sent to prison.

Whatever happens on Thursday night, we cannot let the tie go to penalties. I don't think Mes has ever saved a penalty and as for our takers, well, we have Cree and Piroe and...Gnonto? Rutter? Kamara? Roberts? Firpo? I have no idea, but one thing is for sure, if Bamford or DJ are on the pitch for penalties, we are back in the Championship next season.
