1995

Did anybody else find it a bit strange that both Carra and Neville acted as if the title race was over last night?

I still have the memory of us going to West Ham on the final day of the 94/95 season and "only needing to beat West Ham" (assuming Liverpool beat Blackburn*).

*A strange game, a bit like last night, where huge amounts of the fans inside Anfield actually wanted to lose.

Well, in the 94/95 season the team that went to West Ham just couldn't find the winner they needed oh and then went on to lose an FA cup final to a far inferior team.....

PS. This isn't a "cope article" as I have already said on another thread I hate Arsenal much more than I hate City, so am not even bothered if City win the league.

How is it strange when they're reflecting the opinion of most of the country?

And if your memory goes back to 1995, were most of the media at the time unsure about Man utd getting 3 points at West ham beforehand?

After 2012 and 2022, you won't anyone concerned with City saying it's a forgone conclusion.

This is just the media trying to motivate West Ham

Westham away might have been tricky. At home it's one of the safest 3 PTS of the season. Wee Davey's record away at the bigger clubs is worse than woeful.

3 or 4 nil.

This. It won't even be close. West Ham will be wearing flip-flops and sunglasses.

Arsenal arguably have a tougher game themselves.

Of course its not a forgone conclusion. What a daft thing for anybody to think.

Both games have to be played yet. If I was a betting man I would put my shekles on both Arsenal and City winning. However Im sure the bookies would still take the bet against those outcomes.

Let's stiil hope that Arsenal win and City lose. Obviously.

The disrespect to West Ham was funny.

But they’ve obviously seen West Ham play recently, and know Moyes’ record in big away games. The title is done.

I guess it all goes back to Wenger years and our fierce rivalry with them back in the good old days.

Keown vs Ruud
Vieira vs Keane
Nicky Butt owning Vieira

Getting denied 4 in a row
The CL semi where Fletch was WRONGLY sent off.

They are proper rivals, not a league 1 team with cheat codes activated.
I personally see a City win as a yawn, but if our real rivals (Arsenal/Liverpool) win it hurts.

Don't expect others to agree, but it's how I feel.
