Brexit sort of unfortunately didn't turn out as people anticipated, says Sir Jim. He backed Brexit, and now says it was mainly about immigration and in that aspect failed.
He's backing labour while saying INEOS is apolitical. We do need a change, 8 agree on Sir Jim on this. Unfortunately I don't think Labour is the change that we need and worse is that there isn't a choice due to how the political landscape is here and how much people are willing to actually want change.
Let's hope Jim does a better job of backing United. He won't have the Tories to blame for that if he doesn't.

I think it's also possible giving more left wing parties here and in Scotland is the best way to keep the union. The issue, for me at least, is just how toxic Westminster is. I never considered our independence until recently but at least out Gov here shares my left leaning views. I don't recognise Westminster and I'm sure a lot of England don't either.

FPTP is one of the reasons we have such an immature political culture and shallow discourse.

Diafol, possibly but I’m not sure the people I’m talking about would want to leave it up to chance.
RR, I think there’s definitely some merit in that. But considering we are in that system, it’s hard to see where we’ll move away from it any time soon.
Though I suppose it’s worth considering that to see a seismic change in the political landscape, that it isn’t likely to be a seamless transition, and that it may need to go through all the bullshiiiiiit that could come with it, before a workable PR establishment can grow.

In a lot of cases change takes bravery but all that seems to happen in the UK is that we moan a lot but do little about it.

True, if it were Spain or France they would've burnt the place down by now.

Our students are a bit of a disappointment when it comes to protesting compared to other European countries

Even with a little bit of protest (as seen recently) the government wants to curb that even further.
