"Brexit didn't work out" Ratcliffe

His phrasing is interesting.

It turned out EXACTLY as anticipated for anyone who actually bothered to research the subject, rather than dismissing concerns as 'project fear'.

Still, at least there's some admission that it has been a sheiteshow.

I'm sure it's all someone else's fault though.

It always is.

Labour is not the option. That bag of jelly hasn't got a clue. He can't even or wont define a woman.

Can’t help but agree with you here, Brexit has turned out exactly as I expected. Terribly.

He backed Brexit, and now says it was mainly about immigration and in that aspect failed.

Nice to see a prominent Brexiteer admit it. I've always said the whole Brexit thing and even the Tories staying in power way past their due date was basically the prioritisation of culture war affairs over actual important things that matter, and as such the Tories were able to rob the country blind and run most of it into the ground without serious consequences or criticism, because they talked the right way when it came to immigration and other cultural debates.

He has addressed the culture war shiite dragged up by certain quarters as being unimportant to the electorate who have more important things to worry about. He's not wrong.

Meanwhile, the sane electorate will vote on the state of the NHS, economy, public services, crime, education, housing ………

Elections shouldn't be decided on minor issues like immigration. We need to be concentrating on the core and most important issues facing the country, like should people be allowed to be trans? Hopefully that will feature heavily in the next election as it's one of the most important things we have ever faced as a country.

You say Labour aren't the option but neither are the Tories, Libs or Reform.

What do we do then? Get rid of democracy and go the dictatorship route? 😂

Honestly....who'd want to be a politician these days? It's the impossible job. The two extremes of the argument, the far right and far left, are taking us backwards as a country and whilst these two are the loudest voices nothing much is going to change sadly.

What Ratcliffe actually said about Brexit was...
Exit from the EU “didn’t turn out how people anticipated”. The referendum “was largely about immigration”, as “vast numbers of people” coming into the country had overburdened the NHS and police. “That’s what Brexit was all about, and nobody’s implemented that. They just keep talking about it. But nothing’s been done, which is why I think we’ll finish up with the change of government.” Exit from the EU “didn’t turn out how people anticipated”

So, no 'sort of' about that.
______________

What he said about Starmer and Labour was this...
I think most of the country feels it’s probably time for a change, and I sort of get that, really.” Sir Keir Starmer would do a “very good job” as prime minister.

Brexit turned out exactly how any right thinking person expected.

Brexit was negotiated and implemented terrible by the people the nation voted to represent the country.

I think people want change but the British are too polite to ask for it, never mind force it. We’re a state truly controlled by the media.

He spends an awful lot of time talking about how woeful the country is for someone who moved to Monaco and moved his headquarters abroad so he doesn't pay tax.

Because the Rat wants to build a new stadium for us using the Tax payers money to fund it under the guise of ' Wembley of the North.'

Whether you think Brexit was right or not, it was generally not going to work out because the people implementing it are highly incompetent.

It's been implemented even worse that VAR

Anyone who still thinks Brexit was a good idea should go walk in traffic

For my friends and family in the UKs sake one day I hope it’s reversed. I think the EU would jump at the chance to take the UK back as it would be the ultimate cautionary tale for other countries thinking of leaving that they always come back

I think the issue is that no one can make it work as it’s just an impossible paradox to solve. It’s self sabotage mixed with dead ends at every avenue

The country is crying out for a General Election. You must have noticed.

And we are in a State that has been lead for years by Conservative Prime Ministers and their own chronies who have been elected by less that 100,000, blue rinced, Conservative Party members. And the media that you rightly say control the country sycophantically back the Conservative Party.

That's what is what is funny about what you posted.

The government announced today it’ll be spending £4.7bn on post Brexit border checks, imagine what declining public services could do with that sort of cash

Saw those comments from Jim and I got scared again. He pays his billionaire taxes at Monaco, and backs up brexit. It was ominous for me concerning United.
