Let's see if we can get this thread running until the new season.
Departures, arrivals, optimism, pessimism, fantasy.

Mali drew 1-1 with Israel in what was evidently an even game
Ok Mali had over 60% possession, twice as many shots, three times as many shots on target, 9 times as many corners, double the touches in the opposition box, but otherwise a very even game

Try reading what I posted again. It was a comment made about the first half. You obviously didn't see the game, but there were many periods of the first half when Israel were on top. The second half was completely different.

Latest rumour on transfermrkt is Iván Román, an 18yr old CB from Palestino in Chile.

Evidently some posters don't realize that the game is played over two 45 minute periods?

The stats in the first half were almost identical to the second half. Israel made two changes at the break because they were being outplayed.
The Israel national anthem was met by jeers, their team was booed throughout the game and there were a few scuffles in the crowd. All on the day when their Prime Minister was given a standing ovation by the American congress

Evidently this is not a good time to be signing 18 year old Palestinian centre backs Spanner?

The "standing ovation" was from the Republicans and many Democrats never showed up.
I watched the game and certainly wasn't aware of the booing throughout the game. Not sure what report you read.

Haven’t found a report that didn’t highlight the booing of the Israelis. It was one of the main stories to come out of the Olympics yesterday
