Currently?
Southgate gets loads of pelters, rightly or wrongly, so it’s a thread to see who people think are the ‘good’ international managers currently. Feel free to post alternatives to Southgate also.
I’ll kick off with Deschamps. Somewhat ironically he is also labelled too defensive like Southgate, but you can’t fault what he’s won.
Who else?
Who are the good International Managers

It seems like most top managers have no desire to be an International manager which is fully understandable and the job does require some slightly different skillsets.
Of the managers who are managing Internationally I'd say only Nagglesman is one who can still operate at a high level in club football.
Just looking at the list, since when was John O'Shea the manager of Ireland?!

Spain under Aragones were a pretty slick, exciting team to watch, but under Del Bosque, became a bit of a self-parody. Sure, they had a lot of possession, but it was pretty dull football, given their lack of commitment of players in the final 3rd and trying to pass teams to death.

If im honest idc who it is, i think southgates done a good job changing the togetherness and attitudes towards rival players at club level in Englands set up. But outside that i think hes poor. Id like someone to come in getting the team set up ambitious adventurous and attacking. Not scared of playing talented creative players like trent foden etc. A manager who is able to find a way playing our best talent long before its pretty much no choice like Gareth does with some players. A manager who wont blank unbelievable talent because they dont fit his negative boring defensive rigid setup.
Can find that i’ll be happy, i wanna enjoy watching England again. If Gareth doesnt win something with us honestly thanks for wasting my time cause watching us has been dreadful under him.

Anyone got any viable alternative to Southgate? Someone who would make the most of this squad which many seem to think should clean up at International level.

I’d take Klopp, Ancelotti, Mourinho, hell even Howe over Southgate. I think the England job would suit Mourinho perfectly.
