Maresca!

The deal is being finalised this week.

Well, as we move on from Poch we welcome Enzo Maresca our 6th manager under the Boehley- Clearlake era

Maresca, is inexperienced as a top flight premiership manager in his own right, but he does have a very decent track record to date.

He has had a brief spell as manager at Parma, he took Leicester back to the big time with a 97 point season, he has held the position as the head of elite development at City and was Peps right hand man during Cities 22/23 treble winning season.

It has been said he can lack a plan B, as he will maintain his footballing philosophy, his prefers playing out from the back,a focused, ball control, possession based game. He will wish to install his footballing philosophy, this will naturally require time for the squad to adjust, let's hope that the squad has time to have a good preseason, despite the Euros.

We will know come November whether he is the right fit for the club, at this point let's hope everyone gets behind the new manager and his backroom staff.

The club has also agreed a deal to bring in a set piece coach Cueva from Brentford and we look like signing the very decent C/B Tosin Adarabioyo on a free from Fulham.

As we begin the first week of June the club do seem to be moving quickly in preparing for the 24/25 season.Which is very important

yeah, and we finished 3 points behind you in 6th, on a better goal difference , got to one domestic cup final and the semis in the other.

Insanity considering we were fckn crap for most of the season

Maybe you will get the spurs job first

The internet is brilliant. Man behind keyboard says he could have won promotion and having possession is torture. Probably prefers 30% possession and teams dominating them. It's really good to watch btw.
--------------------------------------------------------------
When done badly, without incisive movement or quick interchanges, possession football is turgid to watch. Gimme a Mourinho/Conte team over that sh!te any day.

Leicester fans aren't a bad comparison point to how our fanbase will take to a manager stylistically. We both tend to favour our teams playing vertical football - more Man Utd/Bayern, less Barca/Ajax. If they didn't like him, chances are we won't either.

I think this all comes back to the same thing. Fans at clubs that are set to appoint an incoming manager shouldn’t discount what the fans of the club he’s leaving are saying.

It’s not just me who thought Maresca faltered to deceive at times with a squad just way too good for the championship - a lot of Leicester fans felt like that. They felt his tactics were inflexible and sides that pressed with intensity and quality could mitigate them. That’s exactly what the likes of Leeds, Middlesbrough, West Brom were able to do. West Brom very unlucky against us to be fair

Look either way - makes no difference what I say. He’ll either be a success or get binned off after a year. Up to Chelsea fans if they want any kind of insight into how he plays - he’s not all bad, exceptionally meticulous in his planning, exceptional with the players - he’s got potential no doubt

And a note to Luka as I spotted his posts when coming on here without logging in

Luka, I get that you’re upset cos you’ve been filtered and if memory serves, booted off the Leicester match thread as well. Your constant obsession with me (and to a lesser extent the Leicester board) is a bit weird.

The way you’ve reacted to both of the above is by camping on our board and looking for ways to slag me off whenever you can. You’ll find a couple of posters on the Leicester board who will join in with you - but what’s your end goal here mate?

If it’s to get yourself unfiltered and allow on our match threads (I think you’re the poster who was kicked off), then it’s not working.

At the moment it feels like I’m living in your head rent free. Happy to keep doing so because it’s genuinely funny seeing how much effort you’re putting in, but can I suggest you just move on to someone else?

Calm down precious. You're a snowflake who can't handle a debate hence why you filtered me.

I just thought it would be a good time to show your opinions of Enzo up. Sorry expert opinion lol.

I find you very ungrateful for what he has done for you and glad he has left. You want a manager who is going to play boring brand of football and you will probably get one.

I do agree with you though, Enzo ball will get you relegated as it did with Burnley and Kompany.

When I need your advice on where I should post I will ask you for it but for now I'll post where I like 👍🏻.

I’m perfectly calm. I never said I want a manager who plays a boring brand of hoofball at all. I think we need to move to a possession based progressive football style but one that isn’t one dimensional and can mix up the play. I’m not looking for Big Sam - but I am looking for a plan B, which Maresca just never had.

In terms of why I’ve filtered you - it has nothing to do with having any sort of debate. You’ve never seemed interested in that. You have an issue with my posting style and you didn’t like some of the negative things I said about my own team (and unfortunately I’ve been highly critical of the club) so you resorted to digging me out and slating me. If I thought you wanted a healthy debate then I’d unfilter you tomorrow

What I can’t figure out is why it’s angered you to the point where you need to keep chasing me around the site and trying to reference me constantly to other posters. That would suggest to me is that it’s bothered you - otherwise you wouldn’t keep posting about me.

By all means feel free to carry on, but every time you do, I’ll be having another chuckle

I wouldn’t say as a Leicester fan he has a decent track record - he has one season effectively with us. The fact Leicester fans are not bothered about him leaving should raise alarm bells with you

The guy was given the most expensively assembled squad in championship history. It was a PL team playing the likes of Millwall every week. He did what was expected but even then we looked horribly exposed tactically whenever we played anyone in the top 6. Our record against the top 6 was pretty awful actually

I’m sure he will do well to begin with given the players you have - but he’s not a long term appointment for Chelsea. It’s a stupid risk which like every appointment you make will backfire
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine being bitter about a manager who won the championship for you. What a weapon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is very bitter, he filtered me last year after I criticised him for slagging off fellow Leicester fans for going to games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The funny thing is he calls other people out using the filter button as cowards. Definitely one of the stranger posters on here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I might have called out Sandy for his relentless filtering, basically for doing anything he doesn’t like. Think in fairness that’s slightly different to filtering someone who just blatantly doesn’t like you and follows you around this site trolling you

Anyway I’ve unfiltered you now

Calm down princess, no one is angry or chasing you around the site or making references about you all the time lol.

I've said what I have had to say about Enzo so I'll leave it there. Good luck next season.

Yeah. We had a manager like this recently, managed to get through half a season before fans were chanting f*ck his football.

Good fit for the owners though. That's what matters

Think this might be a bit premature Thorney unless I’m missing some breaking news (quite possibly). Last I saw Corberan had been contacted (excellent news) and Van Nistelrooy was the other leading candidate.

I wouldn’t be disappointed with Cooper given the dire financial situation our clueless owners have landed us in, but not reading that’s him anywhere?
