1994 United V Oldham Replay

I was watching the replay of the match on YT and something that caught my ears. United put their tickets to general sale and it was all bought up. Oldham returned their tickets as they couldn't pit them on general sale. What made caught my ears was the complain the commentator said was made by the Oldham's chairman about the ticket price. They were complaining about the high price and how the FA was out of touch with life in the north. The tickets cost £20 and £25 pounds. £25 isn't worth much nowadays.

That's it.

Ah you discovered inflation, the biggest con job of the modern world.

Can't just print more money? Surely that'll fix it?

I read something along the lines of the USA printing more money, post covid, than they ever had previously. Not sure if I am remembering that correctly, but it was something staggering.

Inflation is a myth. I have had a £20 note in my drawer since 1993 and guess what, it's still worth £20. They only tell you it's going to reduce in value to get you to spend it sooner. Don't listen to the government. Think for yourself

I went to 3 group games at Euro '96

For the 2 at Elland Rd I the tickets cost £30 (which I thought was a bit steep at the time )

So 25 quid back then would have covered a night out for beer and whatever $hite I would eat once kicking out time and the taxi home.
