Looking at Troy Parrot’s achievements this season scoring 22 goals for a relegation team in the Eredivision, and also coming on for Ireland recently as a sub and scoring the match winner got me thinking. Do we actually have another POTENTIAL Kane right under our noses and would it be worth looking at bringing Parrot back off loan and seeing how he does in pre season with the First team squad, along with Lankshear & Moore we seem to have some really good young talent at Spurs.
Also with these three, it helps with our home grown stats too.
I don’t know if any of these will become stars in the future, but having looked at some of Parrot’s goals, the exude a quality and class of a very good player indeed. On the plus side too, he takes a brilliant penalty.
I am sure Ange and his team will have their fingers on the pulse of players who are ready or almost ready to step up to the plate.

we're looking at a CF with only a marginally better goal return for a team at the other end of the table for 30-40m, so I'd say it would be pretty negligent to not look at Parrott for 5-10m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But a striker who has had more than one good season. Parrot has underwhelmed at a lot of clubs in much lower leagues b4 now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah well that's just development isn't it - he's had 4 loans now, first one at milwall was a disaster, then did well for MK Dons, then got injured at north end, now doing well at excelsior.
he's in the top 10 for non penalty Goals and assist per 90 in the eredivisie and every single other player in the top 10 plays for one of the top 5 sides, meanwhile Parrott plays for a relegated side. like it or not that is a statistical standout and therefore someone we should be looking at in this theoretical where he doesn't play for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get all that, there are loads of players who are slow starters, like Solanke who finally made an impression in the PL after 5 years of trying.
Like i said i'd give him a chance pre-season but would be surprised if he is viewed as being a long term answer given where we want to go as a club.
He still needs to prove a lot at this level and i don't think he will get much chance to do so with us, as 3rd or 4th choice fwd. May be a loan but do you think any PL is going to give him that chance?

I remember at the time when Townsend started popping up with a few goals and doing well for England, whether he could be the next Bale. That didn't last long. The potential to be the next Kane shouldn't even be thought about with Parrott. He's done nothing particular impressive so far.

Fair enough.
Nevertheless, Kane's loan moves did not indicate he was anything special at all, but then he took his chance for Spurs by the scruff of the neck in 2014/15 and never looked back. That was when he was 21/22, around the age that Parrott is now (22).
Parrott has done well on his recent loan move, so while it's a massive stretch to call him the next Kane, he could still do well in the Prem given the chance.

I'm all for giving him a chance, it just seems pointless at this stage touting him as having the potential to be another Kane. I know Kane's form took everyone by surprise but players like him never come around very often so obviously it's going to be doubtful he'd ever get that good. By 22 Kane had 1 prolific goalscoring season in the league anyway. That's already a big head start over where Parrott is right now.

You would like to think that if Parrott is sold there will be a hefty sell on % or buy back clause.
I'm all for giving him a chance, we have seen very little of him in a Spurs shirt.

Needs a chance and we need him as a club home grown player in the europa league.
Finally over the injuries and his pressing is really good got to give him a chance.

Spurs seldom apply logic. I agree Parrot gets looked down up because he's academy product. If Parrot wasn't from our academy. He would be touted as a 25m striker that's worth a shout.

Really good off the shoulder. Be a shame for you to let him fly away, but I suppose you can’t keep him caged if he wants away.
