Definetly deserves a chance at pre-season but for me i would be amazed if he was retained in the squad for 24/25.

The test in my head is always, would we buy the player if he was not ours and available for £5-10m? and i am not sure we would even be looking at him.

As an Irishman taking an interest in our potential stars, he is at best a Championship player at the moment. Needs a good season at that level before you can really talk about him in PL terms.
You have younger players who are arguably ahead of him in ability.

yeah well that's just development isn't it - he's had 4 loans now, first one at milwall was a disaster, then did well for MK Dons, then got injured at north end, now doing well at excelsior.
he's in the top 10 for non penalty Goals and assist per 90 in the eredivisie and every single other player in the top 10 plays for one of the top 5 sides, meanwhile Parrott plays for a relegated side. like it or not that is a statistical standout and therefore someone we should be looking at in this theoretical where he doesn't play for us.

Like i said i'd give him a chance pre-season but would be surprised if he is viewed as being a long term answer given where we want to go as a club.
He still needs to prove a lot at this level and i don't think he will get much chance to do so with us, as 3rd or 4th choice fwd. May be a loan but do you think any PL is going to give him that chance?
I remember at the time when Townsend started popping up with a few goals and doing well for England, whether he could be the next Bale. That didn't last long. The potential to be the next Kane shouldn't even be thought about with Parrott. He's done nothing particular impressive so far.

Parrott has done well on his recent loan move, so while it's a massive stretch to call him the next Kane, he could still do well in the Prem given the chance.
