There are reports in the media that managerial candidates were left ‘unimpressed’ by the news our transfer budget will be low and the wages we’ll offer will be miniscule too. Add to that the redundancies to many long term club staff and them trying to get the government to pay for New Trafford it makes you wonder - do Ineos really want to make United great again? Or are they just coming in to do the bare minimum and see us as just a business opportunity?
Which I get to an extent as obviously they’re a business and want to be prudent but it just seems so uninspiring compared to the big dreams a club like ours should have.
Ineos doing things on the cheap?

Poch was sh*t in his last job. Players running all over the place looking like they had no clue what to do. Comical defending and no real pattern of play, just relying on moments of individual brilliance..

and yet Chelsea ended up higher in the league with a worse injury record than Utd

We may have a very small budget. One thing for sure though is that 99% of what is put out there os guess work or just trying to generate clicks and interest at a time where there is little going on.
No idea why so many people buy the idea that coubs keep places like The Sun up to speed with their projected budgets etc but it's always the same.
If we had a large budget then I'd hope we weren't announcing it. When Woodward did that, many fans spent years moaning about it. We do the opposite, more moaning. Makes sense to project to the world that we're trimming down (and not just project, we actually need to) our wages and budgets etc. If it means one or two summer windows where we don't bring in yet more unsuitable attitudes etc then in fine with that.
It's confusing because I've co sisterly read over the last few years that United fans want ruthless leadership, want to stop buying players for huge money, want to stop giving out insane contracts, want the club to be patient and work through a project etc
But literally on a daily basis the opposite is shown to be true by fans on pretty much every platform I see. There's no consensus or consistency amongst what fans want. Stop lying about what you want. Actually think it through properly and come to a position you can stick with consistently for a bit.
To sum it up - we don't keep multiple news sources in the loop on our budgets. There's little reason to believe that most of what is actually told to journalists is even true.

The impact of Chelsea’s injuries wasn’t as significant as the impact of United’s. You can’t count ‘number of injuries’ in isolation.
We had two centre forwards this season. One was out all season and the other just about managed 25 games. A third of our games without a striker.
We have two left backs. One was out all season and the other managed 12 games. Two thirds of our games without an LB.
We had our starting CB pair fit to play two games together, our best CB available for eight games and our second best available for 16 games. We had two backup CBs just about fit most of the season, and all five senior CBs out at one point, leaving Casemiro and a youth team kid to start PL games at CB.
I lost count of how many different back four lineups ETH had to play this season, but IIRC it was upwards of 25.

What evidence is there that we’ve actually been speaking to any other managers, let alone that they are “unimpressed”?
It’s garbage, basically. I highly doubt we’d actually be speaking with other managers whilst Ashworth is still some way from being in place and Wilcox & Berrada haven’t even sorted their office furniture yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems some (those that insisted he'd be sacked) are convincing themselves that keeping ETH wasn't a straight forward decision for INEOS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought he done things to deserve the sack. I never said he would be sacked. Only a unique few who thought they were in the loop knew he would be sacked.
As did many United fans. It clearliy wasnt straight forward. The fact they waited after the cup final win to discuss his position says there has been a question about his future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All we know for certain is that he has a contract, told us he'd had re assurances from the club, and he remains in charge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is often a kiss of death
Everbody knows unir3d talked tomother managers an d was touch and go especially beforecthe cup final. You daft plank

Amazed you didnt ditch ETH for Poch.
A missed opportunity, for now at least.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps if Poch hasn’t been snapped up he might be available if Ten Hag continues to underwhelm as the season goes on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It amazes me that people still think Poch should get big jobs. Probably the biggest under achiever in football management given the roles he’s had.

Chelsea's injuries were every bit as bad as Uniteds.
They missed Fofana, James and Chilwell pretty much the whole season that's 3 of the back 4.
Colwill basically hasn't played in 2024, Badiashile has missed several months, Chalobah was long term injured until mid Feb.
It's only Silva (38) and Diasi who have had any consistent fitness and they have had to rely on Cucurella (who is crap!).
One interesting comparison is that in January Chelsea brought in Gusto to cover RB and he did well.
In January, United got rid of Reguillon and then moan they don;t have LB cover for the second half of the season
Similar up front. Your striker issues are born out of pisspoor planning. You cannot act surprised that Marital was unfit. Utd sign an injured Hojlund and are left short. Chelsea were more unlucky in that Nkunku got injured early season and barely played. Jackson stayed fit mostly.
Chelsea had 3 different keepers through the season
Both teams have had to field and fill their benches with kids over the season. and both have had players in poor form who have contributed little.
But in the end Chelsea got on a roll. Started to look like a coherent team playing in the Poch style, winning their last 5 and scoring for fun.

The other thing about Poch is that he has such horrible teeth. You'd think he'd get them fixed.
I mean, they are worse than Klopp's teeth when he took over at Liverpool. At least Klopp joined a club with a good dental care plan. They insist that the manager's job includes a set of club teeth that gets passed down from the previous manager. Like when Rodgers left and passed them on to Klopp.
If Poch came to United he wouldn't have that luxury. So everyone would be stuck looking at his horrible teeth.

When Jürgen joined Liverpool he had sheeps teeth. Now he leaving with winners teeth, while Poch is still wearing his Spurs teeth.

I’m not arguing about United’s planning. It was - and has long been for a long time - diabolical.
The club doesn’t have a right to complain about the options the manager was left with given all that happened in the long lead up to the start of last season.
But that’s beside the point.
We had AWB and Amrabat playing at leftback, Casemiro at centreback (whilst injured), Hojlund limping around the pitch half the season, Maguire playing whilst injured, Lindelof playing whilst injured, and our fifth choice CB playing as many games as anyone apart from Maguire.
It was an unbelievable mess. Of the club’s making to an unacceptable degree, sure. But still incredible.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with wanting journalists to be in the loop. It’s more so wanting them to research properly and do their due diligence rather than just making up some minuscule figure.
