I'm not sure about this "stonewall penalty". Thought it was at first, but Armstrong makes a really weird movement and the collision is just the upper part of the legs while the defender is running. Then Armstrong pulls the defender's shirt and they both go down.

Must have been unbelievably clear to referee and linesman all running at full pelt while both defender and attacker are running at full pelt. Because Armstrong is known for his lightning pace

Bottom line is that it doesn’t matter as we’d more than likely have fwcked it up anyway. Then there’s the fact we deserved nothing from our approach.

It’s just interesting that suddenly so many people “understand” why it wasn’t given when I’m absolutely certain were it their own club they’d be going tonto

Fast or slow, if Armstrong was running at full pelt it wouldn't have happened. He stopped, seemingly to make a collision unavoidable. But even when it came, it looked like it was just the upper legs, rather than a trip or anything. And though you might say Armstrong's shirt-pulling came after the contact, it may have added to the view that it was six of one, half a dozen of the other.

It could easily have been given, of course, but it was by no means this "blatant" penalty people have been talking about.

Probably, yes. That doesn't always mean a lot though, given what you can get a free-kick for though.

Croatia are rubbish in the Euros, they’ve never even won a knockout game. I’d fancy Switzerland over them.

They're still a solid team. And they were a fractional offside (Embolo) from beating Scotland as well.

I'd probably back Croatia as well. I'm just saying Switzerland are pretty solid and I wouldn't read too much into them drawing with Scotland while Croatia were drawing with Albania.

Croatia will probably be out if they draw today, won’t they?
