Bellingham or Foden?

For me both can’t play in the same team (at least under Southgate). England actually looked a bit better when Foden came central and Bellingham moved slightly more to the left. Would England be better with Gordon on the left and one of the aforementioned players central? And if so, which one? The best player in the PL last season or (I think he was) the best player in La Liga last season?

From what I’ve heard Shaw is ready to go and should play against Holland (?)

Probably not fully fit as ever but probably dosed up on painkiller injections

What do people think of Ian Wright's suggestion of putting Saka at LB, both to accommodate Palmer and solve the issue of ball progression down that flank? Would be a bold attacking move with obvious defensive risks, so I can't see Southgate doing it.

Forgive me if I am wrong but didn't Saka start off playing LB? or played there at some early stage of his career? Arsenal fans will know better than I but sure I read it somewhere? that said I am often WELL wrong

The worry is that he’ll get injured again.

I would have thought he would have gotten some minutes yesterday if that were true, would be very bold to throw him into a knockout game

Sounds good but how good is he defensively when we no doubt get tested?

I think if you're going to do that, you're better off letting Trent play RB and Walker left, which becomes a 3 when in possession.

Walker is arguably the best RB in the league, why are people suggesting he should play LB just to accommodate other players?

exactly my thoughts. Surely 20 minutes yesterday was a must if we are going to throw in a player into a Euro knockout match, in a demanding position, who hasnt played competitive football for 4 months

This may settle the debate, at least for the next match:

Bellingham has excelled in a deeper role in Dortmund ( and Birmingham) too btw. This season is the first season he has played more advanced. In response to this sudden new collection of opinions that he can’t play deeper, or hasn’t got the technical ability to do so.
