Struggled against Denmark, Serbia & Slovenia in the easiest group there was
Scraped past Slovakia by the skin of his teeth
Scraped past Switzerland on Pens
Good 1st half v the Dutch, the only convincing display so far

With the players available, not convincing at all

A good manager would do better

Which of those good managers would do better when they couldn't do it with the players they had?

Southgate has been very fortunate in that there have been very few standout teams during his tenure. He should have won at least one trophy by now, but messed up at the crucial time.

Turn it around and how well do you think he’d have done in a different era? I think we all know the truth.

He’s a fraud, no matter what happens.

I agree with that Term, the quality of the opposition has been poorer imo over the last 6-8 yrs or so and that has made wins and success easier again, imo only but he’s dealt with what was in front of him for the most part but I’d have been interested to see how precious England managers would have fared with the level of oppo and the players available to Gareth?

I like him as a man and I know it’s all conjecture but I do wonder?

In a word....No

Imo England were favorites to win this tournament. They've got to the final with a lot of good fortune but no dominate performances. That's down to either they're not as good as I think or their manager is a tactical boob. Or both.
