What do you think of the possibility of signing Dominic Solanke?
Personally I would think it would be very underwhelming especially at the money being touted. He had one good season but overall has 29 in 139 appearances.
He is 26 and meets home grown quotas but that cannot be a reason to sign him would rather just give Lankshear a run and spend that money somewhere else.

bad football decisions at a time the club was on the up
we are playing catch up
not even in top 10 worse run clubs in the country. many factors in not winning silverware for so long.

funny that for years the accusation has been that levy is a penny pincher who wastes time negotiating a fee up from 8m to 10m that ends up leading to us accumulating deadwood because we can't get players out the door
and then once we become more ruthless getting players out the door suddenly we're as badly run as Chelsea because we didn't get 20m for Yago Santiago

I am fully aware of reason as to why players left, the same factors be it injury, be it loss of form, be it face does not fit will be involved in any transfer of players. Our players are massively undervalued.
There is an argument to be made, we needed to shift them so by any means necessary but that will only be proven if come the end of the transfer window we replace the gaps in the squad.

We are lacking in home grown players...
PL: 8 REQUIRED: Forster, Skipp, Davies, Johnson, spence, austin, whiteman, Maddison. Naming four keepers in the 25 again? So we minus an outfield player too.
EL: 4 HOME GROWN: Skipp, Austin, Whiteman. Can only name a squad of 24.
We played 41 games joint with Sheffield United as the least in the country and could not cope with a bigger squad than we have now.
You would have to presume Whiteman will go and we cannot keep Skipp prisoner forever.
The next realistic homegrown player going forward will be Lankshear providing he does not leave on loan until january or Alfie Dorrington.
So we do have a home grown problem dont we? Not just this season but in the following few seasons.

why do weed need 25? 2 per position and using some academy players is fine

our homegrown situation is completely fine, we have loads of promising academy players coming through plus signings like Bergvall and Gray will become club trained in a few years
