Seems like 90 goals scored is what we should target if we want to challenge. Last season we scored 74.
So in a simple projection. We need a striker that will give us an extra 16 goals more than Richarlison who scored 11.
27 goal striker needed Or Maddison and Johnson needs to step up with more than 9 goals combined (which is pathetic)

Johnson 5
Maddison 4
Total of 37 goals which is very poor
To challenege this season we need
Son 17
CF 20
Johnson or RW: 10
Maddison or AMC: 10
This is a total of 57
Anything close to this and we will challenge but we need a new CF and RW.
As much as Solanke doesn't impress me if he can get 19 with Bournemouth he can get 20 at Spurs so this ticks a box but Johnson and Maddison are a real worry. I don't see either getting the required 10 goals each.

I fear this season for us.
It looks like we are trying to be slightly more patient tactically, i then think we get countered more in the centre of the pitch, then pushing the ball out wide and concede more. Fatawu and Vardy if he starts will be licking their lips first game of the season.
Certainly do not expect us to score as many, we looked toothless last season in quite a few games with no different personnel i do not see that changing.

1) Having wingers who attack their full-back with the confidence to beat them.
2) Having more clinical wingers forwards.
3) Having a lock-picker (like Maddison should be for a full season, not just 10 games - Leicester fans warned us). Hopefully she can do it over most of this season.
4) Not inverting both full backs at all times and contesting the area of the pitch Maddison/ Kulu will operate in.
5) Having two strikers (so changes are possible) of good quality to hold up the ball and finish chances.
There’s just five ways we could maybe score more goals. That’s not even mentioning sorting out the other two midfielders so that we hold on to possession, get moves going quickly and don’t leave us wide-open at the back.

Irrespective of if you bring in another forward your squad is still wafer thin in terms of quality certainly in the forward areas. To hit 90 goals your gonna have to be pretty much unchanged in the offensive areas. One or two injuries and Werner and Johnson are in and they more than likely won't be able to hit a barn door.

Werner I agree, Johnson I don’t at all. He is a much better player than he is given credit for, 5 goals and 10 assists in 32 league games isn’t shabby and was better than Trossard as well as Jesus and Martinelli.
The same could be labelled at you guys - take Odegaard and Rice out and you aren’t controlling matches. Take Saka out and your attack is far less potent.
The only team who could really weather a top player missing was City - but I wouldn’t want to see them without Haaland next season now Alvarez is gone

We will have to agree to disagree on Johnson for over 50 million I think you have got to be better than what he's shown especially as he's not far off your record signing. For value for money I don't think you can compare Johnson to Trossard.
With regards to picking out other players at the start of last season you probably would of said if Martinelli or Jesus are out then we would struggle given their very good performances the season before that didn't really affect us because we have decent cover. That being said we do still need a couple which I would still think we will get in before the window closes.

Im not sure people appreciate how we were performing.
If we did not have Burnley and Sheffield United it masked our performances which were shocking. We were finishing the season like an oil tanker.
With no change of personnel, no change of tactics why are people positive?
I am supremely positive when the game kicks off but i just do not see the positivity at the moment.
