Forest v Bournemouth - Match Thread

A very positive pre-season ended tonight, with a 4-3 victory achieved by big brother (Forest).

Lots of positives to take into the season; Milenkovic the beast, Sangare looking like the player we hoped he’d be, Anderson adding even more depth and Moreira looking like a bargain buy!

Add in the LB, Winger and forward and we are sure to be looking down the table instead of looking up.

Olympiakos:

The Good: Racing into the lead at 4-1, before backing down as EM waved his ham-sized fist.

The Bad: Sels didn’t look great tonight.

The Ugly: I only watched the highlights, so I can’t really comment.

Special Mention(s): The transfers are providing great depth and a serious headache for Nuno. Fitness looks good.

The Last Time we played Bournemouth (H) 1-1!! CHO with a trademark equaliser:

Sels

Williams Omobamidele Murillo Tavares

Yates Dominguez

Elanga MGW CHO

Awoniyi

Proposed Line-up:

Sels

Williams Milenkovic Murillo Aina

Anderson Sangare

Elanga MGW CHO

Wood

Subs:

Miguel, Boly, Omobamidele, Moreira, Danilo, Dominguez, Yates, Silva, Awoniyi

.

Injuries: None reported.

Pre-season Form:

Forest (H) - W3 D2 L1 GF10 GA6 - N/A (N/A in the Home Form table)

Bournemouth (A) - W1 D2 L0 GF3 GA2 - N/A (N/A in the Away Form table)

Bournemouth having a lighter pre-season with one more game on Saturday.

Prediction:

We look fitter and more incisive, having made some key signings so far. It’s unlikely any coming in now will figure, but I think our squad is in a much better place than last season.

Can we finally get one over on one of our bogey teams? Bournemouth have signed on loan Sinisterra and Unal, but outside of that have only spent big on the 19yr old CB from Roma.

3-1 to Forest, top four by tea-time.

Final Words:

Let’s smash the first three teams and put a rocket up the Sky Six.

COYR!!!

Horrible, heartbreaking injury for Danilo

Lads have responded well, Yates and Williams contributing. Game is in the balance in all honesty

It didn't sound good from the commentary, but he was conscious when stretchered off at least.

From the replay that I saw, it looks like a sprained ankle at best, a broken fibia or tibia at worst. Not caused by the 'Muff player I must add, just planted studs by Danilo.

Let's just hope it's just a flesh wound...

I think a draw was a fair result TBF...

Looks like we've come out of the with three injuries. Danilo, Aina and Williams. That is two full backs. Not very happy with that.

Danilo confirmed as broken ankle.

Agree draw was fair, always a bit frustrating to concede late but second half we didn't do enough.

Still plenty of positives to move forward with

Too many similarities to last season for me.
Couldn’t string to consistent halves together, had good spells of possession but weren’t clinical enough, and for some bizarre reason, Nuno thinks that if we are 1-0 up at half time, we should sit back and try to see the game out. Add to that we tired noticeably from 70 minutes, and a couple of poor tactical substitutions when replacing both wingers, with midfield players.
Wood worked really hard, Taiwo should have done better with a late header and also a reluctance to shoot again on several occasions.
The first half offered an insight of how good we can potentially be, the second showed we have an awful lot of work to do.
It’s also refreshing to say that i thought the officials had a decent game and got most decision correct.
It’s something like 8 years since we last won on the opening day, today really was a chance to put that stat to bed.
I have to agree that a draw was probably about the correct result, purely because Muff stayed in the game, and we weren’t clinical enough to take it away from them by scoring a second.
I really feel for Danilo who was really unfortunate in picking up his injury, it was no ones fault, just one of those things that happen in football.
It was obvious from the refs reaction, of all people, who i happened to be watching at that time, that it was a bad injury, but within seconds of it happening he had summoned on the medical staff.
Here’s hoping Danilo makes a speedy and successful recovery and we see him in the Garibaldi again before the end of the season.
