Welcome to Manchester....

Man Utd sign De Ligt & Mazraoui. Not sure they'll be integrated in time for Friday but given the injuries, I wouldn't be surprised if they do make an appearance.

They prefer Eric Dier to De Ligt lol

Really? Did you pull that one from your ar$e Billy?

To be fair, when a club signs one player and sells another, it usually gives an indication of the clubs preference between the two players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to know why Bayern are really selling De Ligt (and why the Bayern fans are upset about it):

I know it's cos of wages/resale value but he hardly tore it up there and didn't at Juve either. For me it's a pretty risky signing, I would have spent the extra money on Guehi.

Like most of your signings this summer, they improve the squad more than they improve the first team, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing really, as it was the injuries that hurt Utd last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The plan this summer has been to add depth (De Ligt, Mazraoui), options (Zirkzee, replacing Martial), and youth and potential (Yoro, Zirkzee).

Of the signings so far, they’d only have expected Yoro to go straight into the first team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d say De Ligt is the one that is expected to go straight into the first team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now he will be, obviously!

Otherwise, it might have been between Yoro and De Ligt I guess. But I reckon given Yoro’s form and his preseason minutes with the squad, he’d have been expected to start against Fulham.

Going off transfermarkt, which I have no idea if it's genuinely true or not, both of these w@nkers have been injured loads in the last 2-3 years.

Looking forward to their injury capabilities increasing 10 fold after joining our mess of a club.

Maybe against Fulham, but De Ligt would still end up the main guy in defence I reckon purely based on his status and experience.

Guehi’s not very good on the ball and shiiiiiite in the air. We’ve already got Lindelof to fulfill that role in the squad.

One thing I like about ETH is his determination to play players who are in form (where he’s able to, which certainly wasn’t easy last season). I don’t think he’d mind at all if we ended up with a season of Maguire next to Evans in the (incredibly) unlikely event that they proved the most effective partnership.

He dropped Antony and gave him barely a sniff of a start the second half of last season. He dropped Rashford before that. He dropped Eriksen for Mainoo and he gave Garnacho twenty-something starts in a row.

If he has a few more options this season (please god, we can’t go through that again) then I think we’ll see a lot more of that.

I think once he’s set on a group of players he won’t change it around too much. This was clear in his first season with United and was said about his time at Ajax. He has to get the balance right with rotation.
