Getting up at 5am for this one. That’s dedication. I thought Fulham absolutely dominated our midfield in the game last season at OT in a way I haven’t seen in ages. Someone on twitter spliced together all the times they walked through our midfield and it was almost comedic. It should be the same midfield with Smith-Rowe added to it so quite dangerous.
So I’m not expecting too much on Saturday morning but I’d hope we’re at least more disciplined and not do what we did last season and have our forwards press whilst our defence sits back leaving our centre wide open.
This is the team I think will start…
Onana
Mazroui Maguire Martinez Dalot
Casemiro Mount Mainoo
Garnacho Bruno Rashford
Prediction 2-2
Team against Fulham

I'm going to be optimistic and say we win this 2-1 although if it ends as a draw or even a narrow defeat nobody is going to be massively shocked are they?
He needs to get us off to a good start this year after finishing 8th. The vultures will be circling if we don't.

Problem is that once Mount does win it back he does fack all with it.

He's frustrating but he should get 5 games to see just what is there. He's as bad a signing as Anthony at the moment but he has an excuse. Let's find out the real mason mount.

The performance is as big as the result tomorrow imo. Last seasons 1st game against Wolves pretty much set the tone for a lot of the season.

Anyone know how Fulham have been pre season? Any big injuries like us etc?
I’m just fckin pumped for going to the game, first day of the new season always hits different.
Just hope it’s c*ck injections at FT not wishing for the season to end already.

To this day I have absolutely no idea how we won that game. It was as bad as some of our very worst defeats last season performance wise. Wolves had like 24 shots and didn't score one and obviously should have had a penalty in the final few mins.
We need a positive performance and result. It can really help build momentum as you eluded to.

As mad as it sounds I'd almost rather us batter Fulham and them sneak a result than a game similar to the Wolves game where we get an undeserved win despite being dreadful.
Of course I hope we smash them.

Fulham's left back, Robinson, is one to watch. Hopefully will be on our watchlist for next summer to finally replace Shaw. His delivery into the box is absolutely first class.

Jesus I didn't realise he was 27. 😲 Thought he was only roughly 22/23.
Still he's a good player and would'nt be dead against it.

Nah all about 3 points and no injuries in the first game. Performances can come as the squad gets to full fitness and new players grow in to their roles.
