Can someone please explain to me exactly what is the point of this transfer?
Good luck to Gallagher

Super, super Todd
I will give him a standing ovation when you lot rock up at ours this season - he is doing the lords work

Will this be before or after we beat you?

Gallagher counts as home grown - so his value can be used for PSR purposes immediately.
Felix on the other hand, his cost will be spread over the years of the contract to a max of 5 years for PSR purposes.
So Chelsea can help themselves by buying Felix which in turn gives Atletico the money they need to buy Gallagher. The only downside of course is that your getting a player that has already failed at Chelsea and I would imagine he is on decent wages

Was my first thought when I saw this transfer.
And if so - genuine question to Chelsea fans - what's your opinion on how your club is being run? Like, I think I'd be close to losing all emotional attachment tbh. It's just a bonkers way to run a football club.

Losing all emotion attachment?
Personally after supporting Chelseafc since 1970 - 54 yrs , the club is part of me and my life.
Over that time the club has been through numerous highs & lows.
The current ownership has not done anything imo to develop good will with the support, the only good thing they did was step in when they did, but they were not the only people looking to buy the club at the time.
The truth is they were not the right people to take on a club like Chelsea, everything to date they have done has been poorly judged from an on field footballing development perspective.
From a financial perspective there actions in the first season caused significant damage to the club, when the club lost its C/L status , it all unraveled for them and they didnt have the experience or knowledge to guide the club in a way that would have maintained the clubs competitive edge to challenge at a top 4 level , whilst they rebuilt the club as they envisioned it.
How it turns out financially for them I think we will see the implications of what they have done in the transfer market & with the contracts they have given over the next 2/3 seasons.
Emotionally? it is simply frustrating, remember supporting your club is for life, not just for Christmas

I hate it. I knew they were stupid/naïve when they sacked Tuchel mere weeks after letting him blow 300mil+ on his own players, and I was one of the only Chelsea fans who saw through the idiocy of that first January window (the one where we bought Enzo) and ever since have greatly lost emotional connection, which was wavering anyway just cos I'm getting older & have been a little spoilt if I'm being honest - hard to stay invested when I've seen Chelsea do everything in such a small space of time.
It's interesting in that I'd be fascinated to see how this ultimately unfolds from a distance. We're legit being run the same way most seasoned Football Manager players approach playing with big club teams, it's an intriguing experiment. Just wish my club wasn't the subject of it

TLLL, this is not going to end well for them, meanwhile we have to stand by and watch them totally make mugs out of the club and badge
Imo , if they keep fckn up at the rate they are going, I really dread to think where we will be in 2/3 seasons.

Hopefully with the sanctions from the authorities you will be league 1 but eventually recover to your normal level pre 90’s of being a Prem/Champ yo-yo club with robin reliants parked behind the goal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh good so we will be going back to our normal level of the 90’s when we smashed Spurs home or away ALL of the time rather than the current scenario of where we smash them home or away just most of the time!!
When we used to play you, you could have done with a few of those Reliant Robins in front of your goal. 😂
Even when we were ordinary the Spurs fixtures were always a piece of p*ss!!

Spurs fans have a very interesting view of what our history is. We're a "yo-yo" club despite spending an almighty THREE more seasons in the 2nd tier than they have since the creation of both clubs.
They like to pretend there's this grand chasm of relevance between us pre-2003 & it's just not true

Did you give him that standing ovation then?
