Yesterday in his pre-Sheffield Wednesday presser, when questioned about the outgoings DF said this, and I quote him verbatim:
“ No-one is to be blamed from our key people because no-one was, more or less, there when we had to take the decisions to sign the contracts off, even a few years ago, with exit clauses. "
Timeline:
29 June 2017: Angus Kinnear joins Leeds United Board of Directors.
24 May 2018: Paraag Marathe joins Leeds United Board of Directors.
16 Sept 2020: Cree Summerville joins Leeds.
7 June 2021: Peter Lowy joins Leeds United Board of Directors.
7 July 2022: Luis Sinisterra joins Leeds.
14 Jan 2023: Georginio Rutter joins Leeds.
So, to help out DF who seems to have a problem with timings:
[1] both Kinnear and Marathe were Leeds United Board Directors when each of Summerville, Sinisterra and Rutter joined the club.
[2] Lowy was a Leeds United Board Director when both Sinisterra and Rutter joined the club.
It doesn’t matter how many times DF wishes to say it - or is being asked/persuaded to say it by others, the facts are there for all to see.
He’s said it again

“Unless I have missed it DF never said the owners didn’t try to sort out contracts,”
Quote above from DF:
“ No-one is to be blamed from our key people because no-one was, more or less, there when we had to take the decisions to sign the contracts off, even a few years ago, with exit clauses. "

For some fans, there are endless excuses for poor ownership, poor management, poor performances and they ultimately accept whatever is served up to them.
Presumably to garner favour with fellow supporters, they forever create false new deadlines by which time there must be noticeable improvement, “or else”.
Of course, the “or else” never materialises as these fans just invent another false deadline … and so on and so forth, ad infinitum, it goes.
Are these fans the loyal lifeblood of a proud football club or are they the very reason a club is deep in the mire?
Talking Leeds now, for me it’s very clear.
By giving the 49ers (et al, before, and those to come) a free pass, or making the most asthenic, feigning of protests, these fans are a principal reason we’re in a monumental mess.
Until fans stand up and say ‘no-more’ and actually mean it, the 49ers will continue to treat the club and fans with, apparent, utter contempt.
As for mealy-mouthed Daniel Farke, he will be gone soon enough, but he’s not the real problem.

“ 48ers intervened …”
I always thought they were one sandwich short of a picnic🤣.

Light brigade
Assume you are proving my point re DF but clearly you read it the other way.
Also then sweeping comments about Leeds fans generally because it fits your agenda and your truth.
We are all entitled to opinions and debate, even you

Hi Ull … tbh there were so many negates in your sentence I wasn’t sure of the final sense of it (whether or not you were agreeing/disagreeing with what I’d posted above). Anyway, absolutely no probs, I’m just quoting facts (DF verbatim from his presser and HMRC Companies House records) so people can believe those facts or not. Up to them👍.
Sure, my comments about some Leeds fans (not all - have you got an agenda?😁) are conjecture, but I’m struggling to understand why some Leeds fans ignore the published facts. Anyway, I agree everyone is entitled to an opinion … and no, I don’t have an agenda👍.

TBF Light, not always easy to get points across on text but reading some of the the other articles on here re DF press conference it is interesting how his comments have been interpreted by different people. And no I don't have an agenda
But to suggest its fans fault we are in the mire, really ?
Just to let you know HMRC and Companies house are 2 separate agencies of government. I know it is important to you to make sure the facts are correct

When my daughter comes home from work and proceeds to spend 30 minutes telling us how bad her day was, little does she know just how much she brings the mood of the house down. We dread her coming home and my wife and I try to enjoy the day whilst she is at work, and we wish that she would try and keep her negative thoughts to a minimum if not any at all. It feels like that in here, sometimes.

Mood hoovers my wife calls em. To be fair supporting LUFC is exactly mood enhancing sometimes 👍
