It is hard to trust the system...

with the track record of the club, which has always been buy players who fall just short of what is needed to take us into the trophy winners, i.e. the ones we think who can add quality and solidity as well as the know how to grit it out in tough games that are in the final stages of any potential trophy winning situation. Look at CL final. We got there and then the players almost at unison almost just didn't have that quality to achieve the goal of winning that game.

Levy is for me the one who is responsible for this. He holds the purse strings and it is almost down to haggling and cost stopping us from getting those players that would make that jump for us.

Not only he sold a key player during the mid-season transfer but also, we could have bought real quality players not going to name them as it is water under the bridge and still hurts, but we opted for slightly cheaper versions of what we should have gone for it.

This window for me has been pants...Goofy!

We got rid off the deadwoods, bought teenagers and saved money - that's the bottom line summary of this transfer.

It's puzzling how people think we will win anything this season, bar maybe get 5th or 6th and play for Europa League next season again.

We have also left some areas of the team very exposed. What happens if injury hits Biss? or Vic? or that left back situation?

Ange will have to juggle players out of their positions to cover for injuries.

Can anyone explain to me how we are now a stronger team under Ange in his second season?

Ange did miracles for us last season and God only knows we will need him to pull out the rabbit out of the bag, just to get us a Europa position but not more than that.

Hopefully someone on here can explain we are better placed now to win trophies and get back to CL.

Please note this is not complaining because others spent big. We know buying big money sometimes backfires but I am moaning about 6 players coming in and 4 of them being teenagers?

I do trust Ange to work miracles....Because like Poch, he is having to work with young raw talents instead of seasoned players.

Levy likes younger players because they are lower risk, he can pay them less and their values have the potential to increase significantly, make no mistake this is all about money.

Levy sees buying ready made players in their late 20`s or early 30`s as high risk.

Every decision Levy makes is a business one.

This summer was all about clearing the decks for outside investment.

Our wage bill is now below i think Brighton!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The outgoings was excellent…..couldn’t have asked for more

There was so much to do all in one window

The test will be now that’s done will we actually buy proven quality in January and next summer …..if we don’t then Enic and levy really will show there (zero) ambition

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think if there was a decent option out thereas a LCB or LB backup option we would have gone for it.

Surprised we didn't get a loan in and would be very surprised if we didn't get someone in in January. We can cope with Dragusin Spwnce and Davies providing cover, it's not like we have no one, but it's not ideal.

I've always felt we needed another Jan and Summer window to be exactly where we want to be and I stick with that. But in the mean time I think we have the quality to be competitive top 5 and give the cups a really good go.

Hang on, didn’t you just tell everyone else to stop moaning and get behind the team? Hypocrisy much?

Dev is missing the point here. Those young lads might end up being real diamonds, but the fact we’ve signed so many young players means the focus isn’t on the talent they offer, it’s the price they’ve come in for. Bergvall and Yang in particular for a combined fee of just over 10m.. Even Gray and Odobert at 40 and 30m are considered conservative sums these days. The gamble is never on the big player for the inflated fee, it’s on the promising player for a lower fee.

I actually think we overpaid for Solanke and that’s a stance confirmed by Carra and Scholes too. Whether we get them right or wrong, it would be nice, given we’re in a rebuilding phrase, to sign some ready made first teamers. Our recruitment model matches the kind of behaviour you’d expect from a club looking to fine tune, when in reality major surgery is what’s required.

Just go big, just for one feckin window. Do an Arsenal or a Chelsea. Just feckin once. Show us you want to win. God knows we pay enough for ticket prices. Do you really think the club outlay on players matches the prices they charge? Does it feck? It’s daylight feckin robbery.

Best stadium in the league, probably Europe, all that extra revenue and the wage bill is below Brighton. Wow.

See Villa beating Leicester at their place. Like I said, our top four rivals will all win there 👍

Yeah, but January - and when that comes “it’s a difficult window”
Yeah, but next summer - and next summer we will buy 6 players: 1 good, a couple of kids and a couple of meh. That’s what we do every summer.

Wait until LLM sees us putting 3 gks on the bench when he sees Romero is suspended for the first Europa league game

Odobert may be a worthwhile purchase.
Bergval as I said before is really inexperienced and fully deserved the rollicking Vicario gave him.

Levy has been a cheapskate as usual.
Never tries for top class players like Dani Olmo.
So Aussieglue has got to work miracles.
We'll see how our season will go in the next two matches.
