Same tat as Wish it's just more obviously Chinese in nature so people assume it's run by criminals (all these sites harvest your data)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All sites harvest your data and sells it too, even the ones we trust.

That isn’t true.

Most small and medium sized business and organisations’ websites won’t collect more data than they need in order to deliver you their services and products, and certainly won’t be selling your data to anyone.

If you shop with or buy services from big businesses, you’re infinitely more likely to pay that additional price, not only in the collection and sale of your data, but also with the terms and conditions you sign up to, which will strip you of rights you’d assume untouchable by law.

Recent case in point: a widower attempting to sue DisneyWorld on behalf of his dead wife after she suffered a fatal allergic reaction from a meal she ate at a park restaurant has discovered that there’s a blanket, lifetime no-sue clause in the T&Cs he signed up to when he trialled (then cancelled) Disney+.

The best general advice anyone can ever give you regarding consumption is that when you have to/choose to do it, and you can, shop with a small, independent business.

I don't do much online shopping but my wife does and she's a regular user of Amazon but has used Temu also with no issues.
I think she would tend to go for cheaper everyday stuff on Temu, but a more substantive buy on Amazon - that could be just the perception that each company has.
Everyone seems to be watching everyone these days, I don't get too worked up about it, but then i lead a pretty dull life.................

To be fair when it comes to data, Temu in the UK should be subject to GDPR so there will be limits as to what they can do with the data.

They do these silly prices because they want your data so they can spy on you. Do not trust them.

Yeah the company behind it is a rebrand of one that had some sort of data broker scandal. I've used wish over the years though.

TikTok and Temu are a no for me.
