Chelsea had a meltdown in the 2004 champions league after beating Arsenal in the quarters.

We were comfortable away to monaco, they were down to 10 men, and then the original tinker man ranieiri just started messing with the team. Striker on for the rb, cm on for our lw and a cb on for our RM.

We should have just gone on and won the game. We ended up losing 3-1 to 10 men.

We would have been heavy favourites to win the final v porto.

However, if we'd done that, Jose wouldn't have won the CL and then come to chelsea which, the rest, as they say, is history.

Also, if Chelsea hadn't blown that Monaco tie, Big Ron might not have been sacked.

What if Paul Bodin hadn't chosen the worst moment to miss the only penalty he ever missed in his career.

Forget it. I am thinking of Hakan Suker, but he didn't become a regular for his country until a few years later I think. I remeber him scoring againast us for Gala at OT to knock us out of the CL on away goals.
