Since Amiga seems to have died (wishing you all the best, if you're out there!!), I thought I'd raise the topic of the PS5 Pro, which was announced yesterday (link below).
Releases on November 7th for a whopping £700 - without a disk drive and with the standard controller (i.e., not the DualSense Edge).
I'm not going to lie, I hate the idea of mid-cycle upgrades but I was going to treat myself to this one when it was rumoured; I actually think some of the demos looked noticeably better and the performance gap to the base model is more significant than I'd imagined.
That said, there's no way in hell I'm dropping £700 on a mid-gen refresh that plays all the same games as my current console. I'd just about drop it on a PS6, but begrudgingly.
The 'internet' collectively seems pretty taken aback by this pricing, so hopefully the backlash will lead to a more reasonably priced PS6 (a bit like what happened with the PS3 - which was mad for the time - and the PS4, which was much more palatable).
Anyways, thoughts?

PS5 Pro

Whenever GTA6 comes out I'm sure Sony will see an uptick in PS5 Pro sales.. but I'll definitely be skipping the pro.
Might even wait for GTA6 till it gets it's inevitable PS6 upgrade, then buy both at the same time in 5/6 or however many years time.
A new TV will also be in order then for me too. Better get saving!

thats price is a joke !! thats almost twice the price of the standard PS5.... the frame rate improvement is good, some of the graphical improvements were barely noticeable.

700 pound without disk and stand. 800 euro. Or 700 dollar. 700 dollars to 700 pound is a complete farce. It's like 540 pound.

Is that not the us price before tax?

The price is quite insane. The huge benefit console had over PC was always in the initial price. But for £700 you're actually getting into some lower-end gaming PCs.
And then you'll have access to games, rather than just that one Spiderman game and some Astro Bot games.

Where's Simon West to defend the cost of these absurdly overpriced pieces of hardware?
