Came across this short vid about KDB using data in his contract negoiations

Also, David Pleat has now left the club saying the club have chosen data ahead of him in so many words
'David Pleat resigned as a scout for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2024, and some suggest that the club's recent shift to data-driven recruitment and analysis methods may have contributed to his departure. Pleat's statement when he resigned seemed to indicate that the game had moved on past him and that it was time for people more comfortable with data and advanced metrics to take over.
Pleat said that he still loves the game and will continue to watch it, but that he needed to step back from his scouting role. He also said that the data people are intelligent, but they haven't been in a dressing room and don't know that side of the game. He said that someone has to go with their eyes and ears in the end.'
The list of players Pleat reportedly advised us to go for but we didn't, is quite shocking.
The growing influence of data

Who did Pleat recommend that we didn’t go for out of interest?

Pleat says that he advised Tottenham to sign Jarrod Bowen for £8million from Hull City, Ivan Toney for a similar price, and Ollie Watkins when he was still a box-to-box midfielder at Exeter City.

Pretty sure he would recommended some dud players as well. He will only talk about the ones who went on and made it.

Also read he recommended Eze and Olise as well but can't find the source.

Alex Ferguson once said "You have to get 50% of your signings right" So even one of the greatest managers of all time accepted that at best it's 50/50 whether a new signing works out or not.

I’m sure he’d have some misses but those would have potentially been hits.
The interesting thing for me is that those players you mention are all what I’d call proper footballers in terms of touch, control and an ability to scare the opposition. Apart from Watkins who I’m not mad keen on.
Then we get players like Johnson, Richy who have the touch of the proverbial. Is this based on data?
Who knows🤷♂️

Let's be honest, if we signed any players from the championship, you would be a group of others tut tutting away at the ambition of the club by signing such players from a lower league. Mr QC of transfers lol

David Pleat played a part in our academy too not just part of the transfer commitee and scouting.
Huge part of the club and a huge advisor to Levy. Very rarely would Levy ever acknowledge someone leaving the club but he did with David Pleat.
The data driven aspect our trasnfers do not look great, Brentford and Brighton are doing it much better. Look at Brightons rebuild this summer. Names that a lot of people may not of heard of straight into the first 11 aswell as older transfers working out in the likes of Adingra.
