Amad

Turning out to be a good signing. He did more in one game against Saints than Antony has done in a season. Maybe an exaggeration but it should be a sackable offence for any manager that starts Antony ahead of Amad ever again (unless it’s a random league cup game).

His directness is so hard to defend against and I read he’s the first United player this decade to create 6+ chances and have 100% shot accuracy in a game.

More of that please👏

Tbf I think Amad is one of those rare Utd related topics where we've pretty got universal agreement in the fanbase. He's a good player who offers us something we don't have in the other wider options. He's very calm on the ball and press resistant.

Just a shame it's taken 2 years and an 85m flop to figure out we had a pretty good player to begin with - for which the manager should be sacked, in my view. Amad is 22 so it's not like he's 18/19 like Kobbie.

Needs to stay in the team now for me.

I totally agree 😉

I have to admit I didn't think Amad was going to make it.

Scored on his debut but then looked lightweight and raw when he played after that.

He then went to Rangers on loan and struggled.

Sunderland was far better but your still thinking it's just the Championship.

He looks to matured as player now though and for me he should be the 1st winger on the team sheet right now.

ETH made a mistake not starting him against Liverpool.

I don't think Amad starting that game over Rashford or Garnacho would have changed a great deal personally. We lost that game in central midfield and through incredibly poor individual errors from Casemiro twice and once from Mainoo.

It probably was harsh to drop him though I agree but if we are being brutally honest there was a lot more wrong in that game than Amad not starting.

Yep
Liverpool were clinical and simply superior in all phases of that game

I don't disagree but I do think that Amad would likely have made more of some situations that Garnacho got himself into when the game was still in the balance.

With Rashford and Garnacho both scoring at Saints, I wonder if Amad will start the next league game.

Possibly not, but he doesn't have to start every game. I am just glad that he has been given the opportunity to prove himself, after banging his drum for some time.

His composure on the ball and interplay in and around the box give me great hope that he can be a very useful player for us. I think that he will build a good understanding with Zirkzee.

Amad, Kobbie and Zirkzee (and Mazraoui) are all clever footballers with a good radar for give-and-go opportunities. Not sure Bruno has quite developed a sense of how he can link up with Zirkzee yet, but if that relationship starts to fire, I think we've got the ingredients to build quite an entertaining attack.

Agreed. My main fear is that Bruno and Zirkzee will be looking to operate on the same areas.

I have thoughts about this! Kind of expanded on my comment above in a new article. Players predominantly operating in the same zone is a problem in Guardiola-style football, but working close together can be good in a brand of football that attempts quick interchanges. Especially if both players are high IQ.
