Whilst we all want to keep injuries to a minimum, ETH just has to get on with it and cope if/when injuries occur. It's almost more about having a confident team that is winning games on a regular basis, and players are clear on what they need to do - it's so much easier for players to come into a team where everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet, rather than not sure what's happening or the team is struggling etc.

Of course ETH will have in his head his strongest 11, but there obviously has to be a little bit of rotation due to the number of games and to keep squad players happy. That includes the like of Antony who isn't my favourite, but I appreciate he still needs to play.............until we get rid

And tbh, no squad has everyone entirely available - it would actually be a nightmare if your entire squad was fit for a considerable time....................

Process - for some reason I have a soft spot for Antony. The fee isn't his fault and he at least tries. I also think his ball retention is underappreciated as generally he does keep it. It's when he tries to be a winger he isn't he loses it! I still think that in a cohesive team he be a good cog.

Berba - yes some rotation is good IMO and it keeps everyone on their toes too. It must be quite demoralising training all week knowing you won't be involved at all. Doesn't matter how professional you are that's not going to be good for you.

From what I have heard about how he operated at Ajax, Antony might actually benefit from playing with Zirkzee.

We’ve been playing a bit more one and two touch football in the middle and final thirds this season. That’s something that suits Antony better, so hopefully he won’t be completely useless this season, as a result. Will still need to massively improve his performances and end product if he wants to have a future at the club. But just some marginal improvements there to make him more serviceable will be better for the team and our ability to get some of our money back for him.

A good point and hopefully a correct one. I tend to agree, he seems to prefer (and try and fail) that type of football. But, as you’re implying, it’s a team game so if others are not or cannot do this, it won’t work for him at all. Conversely, if his teammates cannot do something then he has to adapt accordingly. But our play very recently (even during games we have lost) does seem to have more one-two / give and go to it. Which is something that I personally love about united historically, so long may that continue.
