My biggest pet peeve in football is how long keepers take to take goal kicks. Yes the City/Arsenal game was an anomaly but Raya ended up taking 9 minutes to take his 12 goal kicks. Was any of that added on? Doubtful. Part of the reason I love AFL is the clock is stopped for everything and you just get more time for action.
There doesn’t seem to be any mitigation other than the referee booking a keeper but 1) that rarely happens and 2) the time it takes for him to book the keeper ends up wasting even more time.
What is the solution, if any? Maybe make a law change where a keeper has 5-10 seconds max to take a goal kick or it’s an instant booking. Anyone else annoyed by that part of the game or what other pet peeves do you have?

Nobody cares about Liverpool and Tottenham.
Arsenal have also played 2 halves of football with ten men due to soft red cards.
Interestingly, still, nobody cares about how much time city waste.

Arsenal need to stop being soft then.

Because on the whole, City are pretty near the bottom for time wasting whereas Arsenal are at the top.

According to opta, city waste more time on average than any other team in the league from goal kicks.
More than big, bad arsenal.

According to Opta on this report, Arsenal are the worst and City are 16th.

Opta's study has revealed that Arsenal are the biggest time-wasters in the English top flight. Mikel Arteta's side have earned a reputation for playing structured, defensively sound football, but were accused of wasting time during their recent 2-2 draw against Man City. Those accusations have been vindicated by the fact that the Gunners take the longest time out of any team in the top flight to take set-pieces. They have delays of 31.8 seconds before taking corners, free-kicks, throw-ins and goal kicks. Their antics were on full display against Pep Guardiola's men, defending a lead with 10 men for the majority of the game before their hearts were shattered by John Stones in the 97th minute.

Aye, we have played over 100 mins down to 10 men due to a stupid rule that isn't enforced on other teams.
We're usually mid table in that regard.

City waste more time on average at goal kicks (which is what the article is about) than every other team. Arsenal down to ten men may surpass it, however.

Stop clock is the only way to stop it.
Refs will never be consistent when punishing time wasting so it’s never gonna be stomped out completely. May aswell adapt to it and bring in stop clocks.
