Just listening to one of the many LUFC
content creators on YouTube. They made
what could be a crucial observation and
comment: was Meslier concussed?
He took a knee to the head late on and
was down on the pitch a couple of minutes
with the trainers. It's quite possible.
I'm not his biggest fan. But, this does
seem plausible. I for one, feel I'm in the
wrong on this one. And if he was dizzy
from that hit, why did they leave him in?
If true, massive apologies Mes.

He was actually having a good game. A few passes were ropey but it’s a really tough job that he’s expected to do sometimes with that aspect. He was good in the air and claimed pretty much everything he could. Great save with the one that rebounded for the goal. Not much he could have done about that.
Such a shame. We as a crowd need to support him against Sheff Utd and how that he doesn’t make many more mistakes.
He needs replacing if we go up though.

100% agree. I said it on the match day thread.
I thought it was his best game in a long time.
Such a shame. We as a crowd need to support him against Sheff Utd and how that he doesn’t make many more mistakes.

Have a feeling our fans will rally around him.
Vast majority will. The human side of this, for me,
overrides everything else. Now I've cooled down.
He needs replacing if we go up though.

Agree.
I don't want to kick him when he's down, but I am
definitely in the camp that if we do go up, we have
to upgrade at keeper.
I thought the rumored move to Marseilles would've
been the making of him. I wonder if that was a
let down for Mes when it fell through?

One wonders how tennis players cope with top spin, back spin, sidespin virtually every shot at many times the speed.
Wouldn't be the first concussed goalie gaff - Karius anyone?

Interestingly, Klopped dropped Karius like a hot potato and he hasn’t been seen since. We’ve held on to Mes for five years and the last three have been poor.

My view is still that we had a corner in the last minute and blew it!
But going on to the goal. I’ve watched it a lot of times and obviously it spins off Firpo’s head and that helps create an awkward bounce. But something I noticed on this video is that when the ball bounces it seems to leave a dent in the pitch. I’m not sure that would normally happen with just a ball flicked forward like that.
Was it a soft spot and did it add to the ball moving the slightest?
I guess it’s time to move on from this but I do feel for the lad. I guess he gave Donn a big grin though!

People seem to have missed dates fact that the ball took deflection that made it really spin...hits the ground and easy to catch someone out.
Meslier the man who made little Bob's day some weeks back.
Every single player and person makes mistakes, it happened, we all swore at tv, we move on.
