He’s young, has talent but he’s pretty dreadful when he starts games that aren’t against League 1 opposition.
Should be no more than an impact sub for now.

I saw an interesting opinion a while back, which said that Garnacho tries to play as if he is more physicially explosive than he actually is. As if he's trying to become the next Ronaldo instead of just being Garnacho.
When you watch him with that in mind, i think there's something in it. He just looks a completely different player from the fleet-footed winger who first broke into the team, as if he's tried to completely redefine who he is as a player.
In terms of his output, I actually think he's been a bit unlucky this season. The open goal against Fulham, the disallowed goal against Brighton, the cross bar vs Palace - on another day they all go in. But something has definitely happened in terms of his general game. Hopefully just a dip.

Good post. Maybe it’s his coaching?

We should give Amad a few starts so that, a few games from now, we can write exactly the same posts about him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s been far better than Garnacho overall. The problem is he has to play very well to stay in the team whereas others get back after continuous rubbish.
We haven’t scored in any of Garnacho’s 4 league starts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Garnacho looks really good the first few games.
Scored the winner against Fulham, should’ve had a second.
Should’ve scored a goal vs Brighton but for Zirkzee.
He hit the woodwork against Spurs and Palace.
He’s young, inconsistency is to be expected, but we aren’t playing to his strengths and we’re expecting a 19/20 year old to be our star attacker in a system nobody appears comfortable with.
Amad has also had games he’s been quiet.
I’d rather judge the likes of Bruno, Casemiro, Ugarte, Dalot, De Ligt, Martinez, Mount, Antony, you know, the experienced professionals who are supposed to be the leaders in this team.
Young talents like Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad almost get free passes when the team cannot function for me. I’m sure they’d all look a lot better in sides who have set systems.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you’ve mentioned moments that were a small part of mainly very poor displays.

He's an almost carbon copy of Hector Bellerin, just a better finish.

Sorry, what. Who is?

I've no idea why he keeps mesing around between Garnacho & Amad.
Amad is a better player. The ball sticks to him, he's more creative, a better dribbler and he's a threat. We should be persisting with him whilst Garnacho and Rashford fight it would for the LW role.
I thought Bruno had yet another stinker by the way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but Amad has a couple of quiet games and he’s suddenly behind Antony it looks.
The Bruno thing has gone beyond a joke. Sent off 2 games in a row, dreadful all season and still gets picked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even in a quiet game, Amad creates scoring chances and doesn’t give the ball away.

Yes but you can say that about a lot of wingers, even world class ones.

Don't think Garnacho is a bad player but he will never be a great one. Similar to Rashford in a way. They can be a scary good at times and also scary bad.
We don't really have any 'great' players though anymore. We've got a few good ones, quite a lot that are just average and then a few who just aren't good enough. It's a poor squad that's nowhere near the level it should be given what it cost to assemble.

He’s certainly not a bad player but yes I agree there is lots of similarities with Rashford.
Playing both simply does not work or at least it rarely does but Rashford is the better player currently so Garnacho should be a sub.

I'd probably go with Rashford and Amad right now too.....but it's really not going to change anything. We will still have an incompetent manager whose ideas just aren't working no matter what he does.
We need a new manager with new ideas and tactics. It's been abundantly clear for a while now. The only reason why I think he might end up staying as we can't afford to sack him or nobody who is any good wants the job.

My greatest pet pieve. It's like using highlights to decide performance. It's the specialty of robb.

Good player that would be better if he stayed on his feet more.
