He is simply not the best and he certainly does not have a Goaldeneye.
Why the faaack are we trying to accommodate a poor loan player to the detriment of the best youth player from our academy in a decade, utterly bizarre.
Proud Mikey’s performance in that second half absolutely embarrassed Timo, beating players for fun, putting chances on a plate for the rest of the side
I don’t get how he gets so much game time

devon,
if Odobert and Son were out again at the same time would you start Moore or Werner though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on the game and on the schedule.
In a tough game, like away at Galatasary, that may not be the best game to start him.
Last night was perfect for him. Home game, average opposition, lively evening atmosphere, an ideal game for his first start for us.
Folk tend to forget that was his first start, he's 17. He did really well but that doesnt mean the best thing to do now is start him all the time.
Also, as poor as Werner was, we have had to rely on him a bit and it would be so much better if he managed to get any sort of goal and pick him up a bit.
I have no criticisms of how the squad is being managed. We tried with Werner, he did ok up to a point, but still looked poor, so the manager changed it. That's good management IMO

I think I would get Terry Dyson, aged 89, out of retirement right now over starting Werner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Id start a Dyson Vacuum cleaner over Werner at the moment

It's question of what sucks more...

There's always something for Spurs fans to moan about, or should i say that Spurs fans will always moan, win lose or draw!
Werner's a stop gap. Yes his form has looked even worse than normal but we didnt have too many options with Son out, Odobert just back, BJ rested. He's a sacrificial part, ensuring first teamers aren't wasting minutes and burning out, while not acting as any sort of long term block to Moore's progress.
Moore got near enough 90 minutes and this is all part of his learning curve. It's the minutes that matter and if he has to play right side for a half, then that's an important learning experience for him too.
The lad is 17, a long way to go in his development. Super happy for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We can’t all be happy clappers Devon.
Besides it’s not moaning, it’s me wanting the best for Tottenham. We have a potentially generational talent not being able to play his strongest position because Timo needs time - that is just stupid.
And don’t give me Mikey needs protecting - how is starting him out of position protecting him? Quite simply it isn’t.
That decision last night was 100% about trying to get some confidence into Werner - a guy that should not be at the club in 2 months time, stick a fork in him, he is done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Give your head a wobble. That was his first start for Spurs and now he's a "generational talent".
The lad will get plenty of opportunities. You think having to play RW for a half is gonna stunt his progress
Last night was about managing the squad, and in that regard it was a total success, and a win, and a game where Moore got some valuable minutes and experience, playing a half on each wing. Perfect!
Werner is here all season so get used to it and with injuries he may well become an important squad player, as he has already. Having him sit on the bench for months and then suddenly needed is not good management of him or the squad.

Think with Hyuk arriving in Jan that we might let Timo go then - Ange sounded exasperated with him last night.
It was Mikeys first home start - not his first start, your struggling off the bat by not getting that right.
This kid has been talked about in circles outside of Spurs for a while now - we supposedly turned down an 8 figure transfer fee from Dortmund in the summer for him and at 16 he has been playing for the England U19’s. He was the star of last seasons double winning youth side as well.
He is the easily the biggest talent we have produced since Kane - it’s not even close and playing him out of position to accommodate Werner is madness, pure madness. Mikey should be starting wide left in all the Europa group games and Werner can push to the right if it’s deemed he needs more game time - I’m sure he can be just as ineffective on the right as he is on the left

Yeah and he's 17.
My bad, first home start Doesn't detract from the fact that this kid needs managing very carefully and lest we forget he played nearly the whole game.
When he came on at United he went to the right. Didnt see fans moaning then. It is all part of his development. Carefully planned minutes in selected games.
Everything about yesterdays game would have been extremely valuable.
What if we have fit left sided players but not right sided? In a big game. Moore has to come in and play right side. Where ever he plays, it is all part of his learning and developing right now and the important thing is that he got a whole game.
crying over the fact he played half a game on the right is simply unreal. You are already building this guy up to be the next Kane. Last night was a massive success for him AND we were also able to manage the squad well. Win win win

Fed up of seeing this confidence nonsense with Timo not a confidence issue it is a ability issue.
The old legs have gone (just not the pace yet), the drop off will be rapid. Next season i suspect he will be in the German national leagues thats how rapid it will be. QPR in the summer he stunk the place out he looked like one of these celebrities playing. Has to go come january we can get two people on his wages and he is blocking Mikey Moore pathway.
Mikey has played as a striker previously but it is not great on his development to be shunted out to the right. The senior pro should but we see against Leicester Timo has not even got the ability to do that.
Last night could of been Poor development for Moore, Gray was poor develepment being put wherever on the pitch and any youngster at the club has been let down by yet again two keepers on the bench.
Great to see a clean sheet and another win but i still worry about the future if this is the way we are going about it.
