I would even rather Spence over Werner playing on the left wing. I know he's not eligible in Europe but in league games I would. All Werner has is work rate and pace only they're not much use when the end product is so poor.

Ange is persevering with him but I can't see that he's suddenly going to pick some form up like BJ did. Hope Ange knows what he's doing with him.

Strike...did you mean Tina?
Maybe he's playing like Tina but should be playing like Timo?

Yes Ted I did mean Tina - I hid a couple of Tina Turner songs in the post.

I hate being overly negative about one of our players, I don’t want to be that sort of fan, but I’m struggling to understand why this guy is getting game time ahead of Mikey Moore who looks the future star of this side, I just don’t get it.

Yes we have to manage Mikey carefully - but how is playing him out of position for 45 mins tonight in anyway managing his development? That move was purely to accommodate Werner and I think we need to be curtailing that

Well we managed a win on a PK.
Ii was not able to watch the match, so thanks for the comments about Moore. Hopefully he'll get game time against Palace!

I think Werner is probably done now. Obviously confidence is on the floor, but with the emerging Moore and players coming back from injury, I doubt he will even make the bench. Davies as well, what is the point of starting him even in the Europa, he was very poor last night. Surely there has to be a younger player to start over him, if Micky and Romero are not going to start.

If he’s on loan, can’t we just end the deal in January?

I hope so, it’s best all round.

Werner is not cut out for a top league and we simply cannot stifle the likes of Moore and Odobert any further by giving him game time they should be getting. I think Ange will properly drop him now.

Yeah weird game, we kept a clean sheet but neither Davies or Dragusin looked at all comfortable. I thought Gray struggled a little last night as well, he was up against a very talented player with a lot of pace - Archie will be a top footballer, but he is not really a right back, he is a CM really.

Udogie was class and Forster had a good game.

Exactly as I saw the defence. Udogie was a class above the rest of the defence, especially going forward. Gray had a tough time against their best player, but stuck to his task. Forster did OK, both Draguson and Davies were poor.

I wonder if there is some kind of stipulation in Werner`s loan agreement that he has to get a certain amount of game time.

There's always something for Spurs fans to moan about, or should i say that Spurs fans will always moan, win lose or draw!

Werner's a stop gap. Yes his form has looked even worse than normal but we didnt have too many options with Son out, Odobert just back, BJ rested. He's a sacrificial part, ensuring first teamers aren't wasting minutes and burning out, while not acting as any sort of long term block to Moore's progress.

Moore got near enough 90 minutes and this is all part of his learning curve. It's the minutes that matter and if he has to play right side for a half, then that's an important learning experience for him too.

The lad is 17, a long way to go in his development. Super happy for him.

We can’t all be happy clappers Devon.

Besides it’s not moaning, it’s me wanting the best for Tottenham. We have a potentially generational talent not being able to play his strongest position because Timo needs time - that is just stupid.

And don’t give me Mikey needs protecting - how is starting him out of position protecting him? Quite simply it isn’t.

That decision last night was 100% about trying to get some confidence into Werner - a guy that should not be at the club in 2 months time, stick a fork in him, he is done.

I think I would get Terry Dyson, aged 89, out of retirement right now over starting Werner.
