Didn't it used to happen frequently, if a player hadn't won and was finishing 2nd, they wouldn't turn up? I'm sure Ronaldo did it quite a few times.

i mean, hes more than worthy, first winner in the prem since 2006 ronaldo? which just shows how facking absurd the reward is and therefore worthless. Most years its a joke as it was when Haaland didnt win it.

It wasn't just Vini not attending though, it was the entire Real Madrid delegation of about 50 people.

Whatever the reason, it's pretty sad that the club wasn't there to honour the first time ever a Madrid-born player wins the award.

Rodri is twisting it in, I think.
