It would have been a travesty if Vini would have won after Erling was snubbed last year despite having a better season.

It is a season award not a lifetime achievement award

Wasn't the best player but was part of the best teams who won the big trophies so deserves the award. There are no individual awards in football. It's a team game, so well done Rodri.

I cannot believe how Bellingham having the best stats amongst the big contenders is overlooked. I never rate this award though

Rodri has been a truly World Class player for 3 seasons now, getting global recognition is a just reward.

Surprised but very pleased he won it. Seems some journalists do still understand what they’re watching at times. Had it been purely a coach’s vote, think he’d have won it too. Fans or footballers themselves,, think Vinicius would have won it.

It wasn't so much about individual performance from Rodri in the final. It was more about his impact on the team. It is a team game after all. There are no individual awards in football.
