He might not have the pace, seemingly lethargic at times but a brilliant footballer who wants to score. I found his admission he and his team mates were equally to blame for Erik Ten Hags sacking sincere albeit too little too late.

Let’s address this “Bruno gives the ball away too much and our attacks break down” narrative and give people a bit of a reality check:
Go look at the pass completion figures for United’s forwards, including Bruno, and then compare them with Sporting’s.
Compare Pote’s figures (Amorim’s chief creator) with Bruno’s.
Compare Amorim’s wingbacks with Dalot and Mazraoui.
Then consider on top of that that United have been under ETH, and remain, a transition team battling for European football in Europe’s most competitive league, and Amorim’s Sporting are *the* dominant team, monopolising possession, in an exceedingly uncompetitive league.
Amorim *will not give two facks* about his forwards giving the ball away. His players carry the ball, take players on, and try things. A lot. They’re dynamic, creative and full of flair. (And fun to watch.)
What he will give facks about is what happens when they do give the ball away; and he’ll expect a 100% committed, intense counterpress.
There’ll be no possession for the sake of it. And there’ll be no jogging around when we lose the ball.
So whiners about Bruno actually trying to make things happen might want to switch off now. Because they’re going to get plenty more of it under Amorim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one cares how his stats compare to others. It’s largely irrelevant. The point with Bruno is *how and when* he gives the ball away, which requires the eye test. Some of the ways in which he surrenders possession are straight up amateurish.
I find the “chances created” stat equally infuriating. I’m sure he outperforms some of our best ever midfielders by this measure as well, which is great on paper save for the fact the game isn’t played on paper.
The point is we’d be better as a collective without one player doing a Roy of Rovers impression at all times throughout the game. If our dependence on making chances is largely down to one [erratic] player then we’ve got serious problems (and we do of course have serious problems).
I don’t think he should be on the priority list for binning off by any means but we need better attackers overall and less dependence on Bruno as a creative force. His form is probably not helped by playing every minute of every game season after season.

Pretty much how I see it, Berba. I will also add that he should not be captain.

I'm a lot more angry when trying to explain in this. But this... It should be obvious

Ridiculous, isn’t it? Having to defend our most important player week after facking week.

He's just as detrimental to the team as he is productive.
I feel like you have slightly rose tinted glasses mate.

We’ll have to agree to completely disagree on that first point.
Since he joined, he’s been our leading goalscorer, our leading assister, our leading chance creator, our best presser, often our best midfielder in terms of ball-winning (led in interceptions and blocked passes again last season, second to Casemiro in tackles), our most prolific ball progresser, and probably our most available player.
If people want to overlook all of that because he gives the ball away trying Hollywood passes in a team built entirely for transition football and bereft of any other creative outlets, then that’s up to them.

Bruno ain't perfect, but there are so many bigger issues with this squad than Bruno. Ultimately, things would have been a lot worse overall without him than with him. There are very few players who I have less issues with than Bruno.
We all know he shouldn't be captain, but due to injuries and general availability, there hasn't been anyone else.
We have become overly dependent on him, especially after such a great start to his Utd career, probably more than what he is capable of, but that's more on the other players and coaching rather than him.
In the last 5 years, probably the only player so far than has been a good signing for us.

Fair enough.
Again, I'm not saying get rid and I agree we have other problems that need fixing way before Bruno, but there is no harm in pointing out his faults.
I am sure the powers that be are thinking about the club without Bruno as he isn't getting any younger. You'd like to think so anyway.

Well he's here for another 3 years so unless Saudi come in, he will be here short to mid-term.
I think playing less games will do him good, he's probably played more than most players in the past 5 years of any club. He's probably burnt out a bit tbh

Well, seeing as the majority of the others aren’t ever productive proves he’s one of our best 👍
