I’m only doing Gyok articles when he gets a hattrick (which is a weekly event these days). He’s been on fire today and could have had 5 and whilst a couple of those goals were penalties - you still have to score them as Haaland found.
Whatever it costs, bring him in. Our goal difference depends on it.

rosso, Biancheri’s been playing with the u21s in recent weeks. Suspect they’ll probably bring Chido Obi up to the 21s as well at some stage. I read last season when they were raving about that United 18s team that many in the club were just as excited by the 16s and 18s teams that were viewed as a more talented group. When you look at the amount of 16 year olds starting this year, and their results/performances, you can understand where that claim may have merit. At least it’s one thing we’ve been getting right at the club recently. Hopefully Amorim can continue to give academy players a path into first team football.

Circumstances are obviously very, very different there, but he’s certainly done it at Sporting.

I've lost track of time a bit, but weren't Sporting in a situation a few years back (not long before Amorim maybe?) where they couldn't even afford bootlaces?
Everything's always so urgent in elite football, that academy players don't get the chances at their clubs that they need to develop, but when financial constraints force their hands, the kids very often prove to be much better prepared than previously thought.
Barça are an obvious example of this, but I've seen it happen repeatedly in Spain with other clubs.

I think it helps players in Spain and Portugal make the jump to senior level having played b team football in many instances, though. The gap between academy football in England the premier league is huge.

While you could argue our squad needs more work, you could also make an argument that just two signings would make our side pretty good.
Tell me this side isn’t decent…

Yoro De Ligt Martinez

Bruno Gyok Garnacho

I didn't know it to be the case in Portugal, but I'd agree it seems to help in Spain.
That said, it's hard to say whether that might not sometimes hold them up. Especially in financially harder times, some of the most promising youngsters are fast tracked thrpugh that intermediate phase and don't look any worse off for it. Yamal, Fati, Having, and Cubarsí don't have even a dozen 'B' games between them.

They brought it in a good few years ago now, as I recall. Seems to have been pretty beneficial for the Portuguese talent pool.
You will get some making that jump quite quickly as well. With United that’s tended to be the case with our best academy players going straight from the 18s. It’s rare you’ll get that many breaking into the first team all at once. But I guess we’ll see what happens in the coming years at United, as the groups coming through are among the most highly rated that many have seen at the club - that’s the noise many have been making.

Hire Bartomeu as CEO for a couple of years and you're sorted.
