Wolves v Southampton Match Thread

📆 Saturday 9th November 2024
🕠 15.30
🏟 Molineux Stadium

3pm Saturday kick off, tv guys not interested in 20th versus 19th then?

So much has been written and debated online about wolves form since our F.A. Cup exit to Coventry back in March, one win, no clean sheets, 48 goals conceded in those 20 league games. That has relegation written all over it. Ironic then that is was Coventry's manager that today lost his job, not ours. The pressure is most definitely on however, anything other than a win would surely bring the end to Gary O'Neil's reign. Mitigating circumstances maybe but the facts don't lie, he needs to have a flawless run of results up to Christmas to have any chance of staying.

Very little actual news or social media this week coming out of Compton, bar and bunch of ads featuring players in Christmas jumpers. So little team news to report.

I am reasonably confident of a Wolves victory however and genuinely hope Gaz can turn this around. 2-1 to the wolves 🙏

Why have you put 15.30?

It wasn't a must win last week but it certainly is this week.

It’s a “must not draw or lose” proper six pointer.

Such a big game not just for GON but for Wolves as a club. Southampton look like relegation certainties to me. If we can’t beat them then what’s that say about Wolves. If we don’t win this, and still stick with GON then we’re taking an enormous risk with our future. We can bring in new players in January but if we don’t win some games before then, that could be too late.

Read today that the club is valued at around £480m. Fosun will be aware that valuation will be much lower if we’re in the Championship. So they will be very keen to protect their investment.

Really don’t care how poor, how boring, how nerve wracking this game proves to be. Just want us to win
