Ange - can he turn it around?

What does history say with respect to managers turning things around after being **** and then getting success at the same club? Especially in recent history i.e. last 10-15 years?

I’d argue (& assume) it is very rare. Look at someone like Ten Hag. Desipite winning 2 trophies, his whole tenure at United was below expectations and he just couldn’t turn it around. They should have sacked him sooner. I also doubt Potter would have improved at Chelsea, nor Roy Hodgson at Pool. Ancelotti even would have still been struggling had he remained at Everton. Sometimes it just don’t work.

Even if we consider Arteta as the great reason to keep Ange (I’m sick of this narrative), he also ain’t won anything since his first season.

While I agree that sacking Ange probably won’t do anything long term for us, especially with Levy/ENIC, but keeping him is unlikely to improve things either - we’ve seen our form for over a year and it absolutely sucks.

Long story short - can he turn it around or are we likely to be **** for the foreseeable regardless of what happens? I think the latter.

At this point I’m so convinced you’re a wum I’m not even sure if it’s worth responding. ETH was a laughing stock mate. I’m gutted he’s gone because it was honestly so joyful watching you guys not only get beaten but even on the days you won, get routinely outplayed by substandard opposition. I watched United plenty of times. I don’t need the media to confirm what I saw with my own eyes. You were a shambles and if you can’t see that, you’re delusional.

He’ll probably be sacked by Xmas, looking at your fixtures.

how much longer is ange contract?

assuming we aint relegation threatened id be inclined for him to see it out if its 3 years and he hasnt earned a new one

No. He's got no plan B and everyone in the league knows it.
We have a good squad that is capable of winning something, but .....not with this manager.
We need a new manager, but I don't know who.

"I know how I am going to play in the beginning because you have to start with a structure that you know and then you will adapt with the players that you have," said Amorim.

Ange, are you taking notes?

It was a myth we were a shambles. We actually started to play quite well end of last season for last few months. We just conceded individual mistake goals, ridiculous penalties and deflected shots. It is like everything that could go wrong end of last season did go wrong. We beat Liverpool but ref gave them a wrong penalty. We beat Burnley but the ref gave them a wrong penalty and disallowed countless pens for us. The Chelsea game we conceded a ridiculous early pen. Even Wolves away we won we conceded a ridiculous pen. Our collapse against Coventry was a ridiculous deflected shot and a wrong penalty. Even Liverpool in the cup they scored the 2nd goal as a foul and 3rd goal huge deflection and first goal lucky rebound. I honestly thought ten hag couldn’t get more unluckier if he tried.😂

Also forgot to add the Fulham game we should have won by a few goals but somehow lose.😂

Ange is doing a lot right btw. Battered Man Utd this season. He seems to want to press high, just like ten hag and create a lot of big chances. Just need to get some luck. I would be shocked if Spurs don’t finish top 5 this season.

Not a chance can he turn it round.

We are now not beating the smaller teams, we do not beat the big teams so that spells the end.

Beat Villa, Man City and Man Utd this season. It won’t be a shock if you beat Man City again considering the form they are in.
