I see a lot of articles saying we need 3 4 or 5
new players. I don't agree. I'm not going to list players who aren't good enough, and everyone has their own opinion.
But I think the squad we have is perfectly capable of achieving top four.
And I would also say with one addition we can challenge for the top.
It's getting everyone to play to a plan, knowing their role.
Being fit, and not unlucky with injuries.
You don't need world class players in every position, in fact hardly any
I'm confident our new manager can do it.
Players.

I'm curious to see how much Amorim can improve us simply by reimagining what to do with the talent we have and optimising individual performance.

This is an opportunity for those on the borderline of staying or leaving to prove their worth. For the underperformers, it’s the final chance to step up. What excites me most, however, is seeing the potential of our youngsters and how far Amorim is able to push them.

I don’t see how you can say that OP.
City, pool, arsenal, Chelsea, spurs, villa all have better teams
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were within 4 PTS of most of those teams this morning despite sacking our manager and generally being crap in every game.
The gap isn't as big as you think. A good manager can change the optics quickly. See Villa with Gerrard compared to Emery.

Didn’t say the gap was big. Just think there are multiple better teams. Which they’re are. He will do well unless he really improves your players. Holjund and others I’m sure can improve being young. But Chelsea are improving too. So that’s already 4 teams that should keep you out the top 4 (with city pool and arsenal)

Nick,
I mostly agree, but the issue at Utd is that for 90% of the season, this group has been AWOL, seemingly intent on getting rid of the coach. If Amorim, and it’s a big if, can raise performance levels consistently, who knows where we might end up. For now, it’s very much a free hit for Amorim, with nothing to lose and everything to learn for the seasons ahead.

As a one-off game, sure. That’s the problem, they show up only when they feel like it.

Amorim is potentially will be a good manager/head coach for United.
But hes not a miracle worker.
He has of course inherited the current squad of players and United's current financial situation
So success will come for him at United by how he and the INEOS team fair in the next few transfer windows. Which includes getting the right players coming in and the wrong uns going out.
