Some of us understood we had a somewhat easy start to the season and we were patient enough to wait until we played some quality teams.
There's still plenty of football to be played but the assessment so far has to be so far so good.
Chelsea, Arsenal, RBL, Leverkusen, Villa, Madrid and City and we held our own in every single one of those matches.
Still way too early for title talk but lets see where we are end of Jan and if we still have a 11pt lead over City then I'll be way more comfortable.

A team can win the league by winning 95% of their home matches and 12 way games. This will get you to 90 points.
Liverpool have won pretty much the the most difficult home games and on course to win 95% of home matches.
They have won 5 away matches and drawn one. They now require to win 6-7 more away matches and keep up the home form against less difficult opponents.

Yeah I see Arsenal going on a run from now until the end of Jan tbh
They've had a difficult start and they are still second but the flip side is Arsenal's problem is not the weaker teams...it's Arteta bricking himself in the big games.
From their perspective though they're probably looking at that start, being 2nd and only 9 points off top with optimism. Still a lot of football to be played

You say that but Arsenal lost against Bournemouth and Newcastle, think those are their only losses this season?
Fully expect them to play for a point at Anfield whatever happens until then though. I do think United may get something from the game midweek though, that 4-0 vs Everton will give them huge confidence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Odegaard being back seems to be key for them. If they were to lose him for any length of time again they could be screwed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal get immeasurably lucky with injuries though, especially compared to us and City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Attributing their poor form to Odegaard's injury doesn't say much for their squad strength. Same with City and Rodri, which I find weird.
Meanwhile we've had injuries to players like Ali, Trent and Jota amongst others and cracked on. If we do win it that, IMO, will be the reason.

I would expect Arsenal to win all their games on December but they do actually have quite a tough Jan coming up.
Brentford and Brighton away, followed by Spurs and Villa at home before Wolves away and then finally City at home.

9 points is a decent lead and puts you lot as firm favourites. Up to us to reduce that lead as if it gets any larger then it is curtains.
I detest the lazy term of being branded as bottlers as losing a title over 38 games can be down to so many things. However, Xmas will be key - if your lead is down to a more manageable 5 or 6 points by the new year then game on.

I mean you can only beat whats in front of you and its not your fault your three toughest league games have come at awful times for the opposition, You've been given a decent start and you've absolutely made the most of it and given the manager an amazing platform to build on so fair play.
Too early to talk about the title but you must be favourites now and I'd rather you than City all in all, if it cant be Arsenal.

I guess but I never had that down as anything other than a win for you. I meant the games against Arsenal, City & Villa as they were the 3 I had you down as potentially dropping points.

Ah well if you had that down as a win then it can't have been a tough game of course.

Would you have expected to lose that game then?

I didn't necessarily expect us to lose but it's certainly a game anyone can drop points in.
