At the time of writing, (manager of the month nominee) Gary O'Neil's reign stumbles on but the "phrase dead man walking" rarely seemed more appropriate. On a personal level I must admit that I feel a bit sorry for the bloke. To his credit he fronted up to the media yesterday, tried to say all the right things concerning his own future while the morons that put him in a position that he's not qualified for are conspicuous by their absence and continued silence. He's not stupid though, he knows what's coming. We can all see that rather than take the criticism for sacking the manager without a ready made replacement lined up, this time they are leaving the stooge in place while they work behind his back to replace him.

From yesterday's press conference, "Have you spoken to Jeff or Matt since last nights game Gary?", "No". No, because they've been holed up in a travelodge on the M1 trying to persuade someone, anyone, to come in, take your job and work with the kind of self imposed constraints that no other club is stupid enough to apply.

My sympathy is limited however, he clearly shouldn't be allowed to send another team on to the field in the Premier League after the last two chaos strewn performances. Not at least until he's proven that he's capable of organising a defense, preferably well away from Wolverhampton.

But, yes Monday's game, well, old blinky face himself and latterly of this parish, Julen Lopetegui is under similar scrutiny, but like we did with Dyche on Wednesday we'll probably gift wrap a nice little pressure relief valve for him and present it in the form of weak defending and crazy decision making. A 3-1 defeat beckons, O'Neil bowing out watched by Hobbs and Shi who are cuckolding him sat next to Michael Carrick. "He was a guest of his former club, honestly. But we took the opportunity to see if he might be interested in joining us..."

Gorra laugh ay ya?

Just read Jeff's latest remarks, feel much better now, everything's fine apparently. Trust in Jeff, trust the process.

'I believe in the power of positivity because negativity achieves nothing. Just as atoms remain atoms, how we perceive, combine, and connect them defines their collective value, and positive energy grants the group of atoms life and vitality.'

Sounds like something you'd hear from a drunk Aunt at a wedding after she's been on some wellness weekend.

Sounds like something might come out with when extolling Dawsons virtues! 😂

When I read Jeff’s quote I wondered if he’d employed Eric Cantona as his script writer

Exactly! The last bit reminded me of the seagulls and trawlers, but I thought what came before read well,
Fosun have made good decisions and bad decisions over the years, as you would expect, and we are in mess at the moment , Brighton are the role model for a club of our size and they have had a very successful player trading policy, I think we need to get rid of GON and crack on with someone new we do have the players to stay up but it is getting difficult, unfortunately some of our players are too hot headed and there are not many sensible leaders

good decision by GON to take captaincy away from Lemina , good luck Nelson!

I think Lemina’s actions after Mondays game made that pretty inevitable, and Semedo has been one of the rare shining lights this season.

Do have some sympathy for Mario though. He’s played in about 6 different positions this season. Would have been better to leave him in the position where he was our player of the season last season

it is good to see his passion but he needs to channel it better

Ironically on the eve of our relegation battle with Ipswich, 70 years ago today Wolves beat Honved 3-2 and were being referred to as the best team in the world.

Difficult to know what team we will select today. Seems that Sa isn’t fit so Johnstone will be in goal. Doherty will likely retain his place after his goal at West Ham with Semedo as a centre back.

Joao Gomes suspended so Lemina and Andre will be the central midfield players and Cunha and Larsen will be up front. That leaves one attacking midfield place to fill with a choice of one from half a dozen. Maybe Tommy Doyle will come in but it wouldn’t surprise me if GON selected Hwang.

We desperately need to win and GON will doubtless be on the end of some stick from the crowd if we don’t. I’ll be feeling hopeful but not confident.
