I’ve never been one of his critics - especially during that period of time where right wing snowflakes got mad a rich person wanted to help poor kids eat - but he just seems like the ghost of Christmas past at United. A player with no real purpose who whilst not as terrible as an Anthony or a Malacia, is more of a meh guy who needs a new challenge.
I doubt we’d get a huge amount but unless his contract is coming to an end (can someone confirm) I think someone would give us £30 million or so.
Anyone else think it’s time to let go of a player who’s lost his way a bit?
Time to sell Rashford

I have a feeling we could see quite a few 'fan favourites' being moved on before we become a challenger again. I'm thinking the likes of Garnacho, Mainoo, Martinez may not be untouchable for a variety of reasons even if I think they're some of our better players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed. Not all; but some.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Other clubs have done as well as us in the past. I'd have been upset a few years ago when I was younger but now I don't really care who plays as long as they're good players that play for the shirt. Always want to keep the core principles of the club in place though, of course, in using academy players etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s also getting some of the high earners off the wage bill.
If we let Case, Eriksen and Maguire go this summer and can shift Rashford, even for a relatively low fee, that’s something like £50m p/a off the bill.
None of those players look remotely critical, if even particularly useful, to Amorim.

Perhaps Dani Olmo as he’s supposedly available for free in Jan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you sure? He just joined Barca 4 months ago after they spent about 55mil on him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s supposedly struggling to get registered for a second part of the season due to some weird Spanish finance thingy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does that equate to 'available on a free'?

Not sure how accurate this report is but going off this

Absolutely. It really is a bit of a mess isn't it! I'm absolutely certain though there are players in the lower part of the PL or even in the Championship that would be a much better fit and would cost much less.

Everyone is suddenly ok with this? It has been obvious for 2 years now. We have a problem where our "best players" are not good enough to be upper limit in terms of expectation but are paid and used as irreplaceable. It is a side effect of being so big you can afford to sustain your errors instead of clearing them out.
Few years ago I said we should follow the Chelsea model, cleanse and retool with a pile of lower priced young players and highly valued players deemed on the verge. The best youth players in Chelsea too were kept till they proved they were not good enough and sold but they were at least tried out. We helped them taking Mount and Arsenal took Havertz. They have a completely new 11 in 2 years. We literally have the same 11 for the past 5. These players are not getting any better. No manager can change it.
Amorim is going to need the madness Chelsea has shown. There is a list that should be gone and it starts with Bruno and ends with Maguire and Case, Antony, and 7-8 players who just see the club as a pay check they cannot get anywhere else.
Also our wage structure must be overhauled too.

Why is the best player at the club, the captain, the only player who creates anything and who is key to Amorim’s plan the first on the list?

Because he is our limiter. He guides our worst tendencies and maybe one of the more unmanageable players on our team. The stats are doing us in.

Fking madness when you think about it. 4 players who are no where near good enough for what we need
50 million a facking year.
Some idiot at my company signed off on a piece of software that's costing us £125,000 a month. The software is facking chit and now the company has made about 250 redundancies.
I bet if we just got rid of this chit software the company would be in far better shape.
My point is, why are so many people in power, so facking clueless on how to run business...

In no particular order:
1. Inheritance
2. Nepotism
3. Gift of the gab
4. Ruthlessness
5. Peter Principle

Time to say bye bye.
Nearly 9 years since his debut and he’s only delivered 138 goals.
A pretty poor return considering his golden boy status and the hype around him.
