Manchester clubs

For City, Pep built a fly-by-wire run by a computer that's now absent. He sold the only backup server too. No-one seems to remember how to fly or land manually. He kept the notes in his head, lost some.

For United, An assortment of parts from Ambraer, Russia and Andruino, purchased by different managers overseen by miserly owners who ordered the emergency kits after incessant noise by stranded travelers.

Manchester United are a sleeping giant. It is only a matter of time before the beast awakens. This is what other fans fear, the rightful champions back where they belong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United are primarily a mid table team, only elevated by two world class managers. Otherwise, barely relevant.

Take out Ferguson FC, and you have a club with a modest record of success much of which could only be viewed in black and white.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're a tinpot club in London that is only relevant because of a Russian Gangster who was on the run with his money.

Fill in the blanks......

English team with most titles.....
First English team to win the European Cup.....
English team with most Balon d'or winners......
First English team to win treble.....
Only English team to win treble without cheating.....
Biggest Stadium and fanbase......

I could go on for a while here but I think you get the picture.

Barely relevant is absolutely hilarious coming from a rentie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now take out Ferguson, and look at what's left of that list.

Like I said, mid club elevated by a top tier manager. Back to where you belong since he's retired.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But that makes no sense because we did have Fergie.

Sir Matt and Fergie represent 50 years of our football club you moron. Fergie 26 and Busby 24.

Taking 50 years off our history to make your argument stronger is just ridiculous.

Shall we take the 70's and 80's off Liverpool for fairness then whilst we're at it?

Sit this one out mate. You've had a mare.

Sigh. Clearly I need to spell this one out a bit more for the hard of thinking.

I said that without Ferguson your triumphs were back in the days of black and white telly. Which covers Busby. Sure, he won a fair bit. But what did you win as a club without those two giants of the game? Pretty close to sod all, and they only cover 50 of the 140 years of your club. 90 years where the managers haven't been good enough to make up for how average you are.

As for Liverpool (and us) if you paid attention you'd know we've won our trophies with a bunch of different managers. We don't rely on being dragged out of obscurity by one talented individual.

I think sitting this one out would be a good idea for you, since you've clearly not understood any aspect of this relatively simple discussion from the start.

I’d rather have had Fergie and won loads than win loads off the back of money

Fergie spent money but he generated that by being successful ….chelsea were only successful off the back of a rich man’s play thing

I’d rather have uniteds history than Chelsea’s and that’s not because I’m a Tottenham fan either …..don’t particularly like either club

Only English team to win treble without cheating.
------------------------------------
Desperate

You wouldn't have won half that stuff if VAR and FFP had been in place to rein in your spending and onfield cheating.

Imagine a world with no Fergie Time, players intimidating the ref, goals that crossed the line like Pedro Mendez given.

Take our Roman Ambromovic and look at what's left of Chelsea.
I'm misunderstanding the point you're making.

I'll let the fear of United rising again sit in your heart. I hope it doesn't ruin your Christmas. We will be back, and the rest of you shall kneel.

He doesn't have a point he's making. He wants to take away the Fergie and Sir Matt 50 years but leave all the successful periods for all the other clubs. Seems fair.

Would be like me saying take the 70's and 80's away from Liverpool and they'd be smaller than Arsenal. You can't take away those years. They happened.

We really did cause a lot of upset and torment in the 90's and 00's didn't we? I think it was well worth going through this period now to be honest.

We made loads of scousers, City fans and cockneys utterly miserable for over 20 years. That's something you just can't buy.

Take away Abramovich and Chelsea would've ceased to exist. They were going bankrupt before he came, and would've at least gone the sane way as Leeds.

Even now Chelsea are only relevant because Abramovich allowed them to wipe off £1.5bil that was supposed to be debt, but was actually a gift.

Take away Old Trafford and we wouldnt have a stadium to play in. This is a fact and something you just can't ignore and is a major factor to our success.

Shush. This is a discussion about trophies. No place for a Spurs fan.
