Letโs get this done. Will this solve all our problems? Nope but we might just avoid relegation if we can score a few goals here and there.
Rashford, Zirkhorst and Casemiro out, the Gyรถk in.
Throw in Olmo and itโs on.
Amorim wants Gyökeres NOW

If I recall Osimhen does have a break clause if Napoli sell him in January.
This may be fantasy football but couldn't United and Napoli do a convenient deal which sees us 'pay' let's say £80m for Osimhen and they 'pay' £70m for Rashford.
I think that would be a pretty decent move all round and could solve a few problems player wise and with PSR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Busby says the break clause is there if Osimhen can be sold. I'd love this deal from all angles, including seeing Rashy in a wonderful city that loves its football and in a league that seems to offer a platform for players who are below elite in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We could perhaps do similar PSR convenient deals for other players too to help. Perhaps Lindelof can go back to Benfica for us to get Alvaro. The powers that be are supposed to be clever people. Let them show us and earn their money!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As long as creative accounting doesn't get penalised retrospectively...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RR I think that's a good point, to be fair I'm definitely not sure how it all works and not sure it's 100% clear?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Others will know more than me but if I understand correctly if we, for example, sold Rashford for £50m and bought Osimhen for £50m on a five year deal that would be a £40m profit on the books this year. That's my (very) basic understanding anyway!

If that's right then that sounds ok the whole process is confusing to be fair?

It's a strange old process that's for sure!
What it also means is that you could sell Osimhen after a year for £41m and you'd show a profit of £1m!

they don't make it easy in anyway?
I'd take him in a heartbeat but feel there would be other clubs all over any possible deal?

Maybe I've missed something but where have we nurtured and developed the talent in our academy players in the past ten years? It's become a romantacised view but the reality is markedly different. Most are loaned and sold off. Others break through, stagnate through little coaching and development, eventually being sold off as well.
I'd like to think this will change under Amorim and INEOS but it needs a real change in mindset.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The academy has done impressive work in recent years. Under the general Glazer complacency it slipped behind competitors in terms of investment in facilities and recruiting top talent. However, during that period it retained a strong reputation in terms of all-round footballing education, developing well-rounded individuals and pastoral care, setting graduates up for good careers in football. In fairness to the late Woodward years onward, more emphasis was placed on bringing through academy players, and the cohorts reaching U18 and U21 today are among the best in the country (with some of the U21 age group regulars in the senior team).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I'm not faulting the academy at all. We have an excellent academy. But beyond that, they've had little to no prospect at the club, either in terms of breaking through into the first team or sufficient development to reach their full potential once there, with most under achieving and being sold.

That's pretty standard at top flight clubs, isn't it? United have a better record than most in terms of numbers of academy graduates making it to the senior squad.

Not in the past ten years I would say our record has been poor. Certainly not above the likes of Liverpool who are proving more opportunities and continuing to develop players who break through into the first team so their careers at the club have longevity.
I don't see where our first team has benefited from our academy. One of two things happens
- the academy players coming through are sold off or let go - Garner, Tuanzebe, Elanga, Brandon Williams, Pellistri, Kambwala off the top of my head in recent years.
- or those who shine and are largely left to just get on with it, with little or no develepment to their game and they stagnate, who are then sold off e.g. Mctominay who had all the attributes of being a box to box mf, a replica of Darren Fletcher in the making - no game development, wasted and sold off. Rashford, Greenwood (until he left) and Garnacho whose game to date is pretty much the same as the day they entered into the first team i.e. drive into the box and shoot. They become predictable and flounder. I'm hopeful Amorim and his coaching staff will change this otherwise none of them will be at the club very soon.
The idea that we need to continue the MUFC tradition of bringing our talented youngsters from the academy to be integral to our first team has become a bit of a myth. As I said, I hope Amorim and INEOS change this.

Who to cheer on now, them or United. It's a real dilemma.
