I do believe my OP is not far off what's needed, but achieving peace there is , almost, impossible.
And certainly nobody can come up with a four line solution.

Over here 52 a lot thought peace in the north was never going to happen. My childhood was dominated by adults talking about what was going on there.

But we do have peace so there’s always a chance/hope

From my perspective this has been a good debate.
I learnt something important that I didn't know.
Not the solution though sadly.
As this is the only social site I use it's good that sometimes something that is not footie is allowed.
I read the Guardian and often the NYT , but they don't cover everything. And Israel supporting Hamas, at least financially is new to me.
At least I absolutely know Israel is wrong and have made a previous post saying so.

If only..... the negoatiators and diplomats who are charged with the task of finding a lasting and acceptable peaceful solution the the current and historical problems in the Middle East all read the JA606 political threads such as this one.... there wouldnt be any problems in the World.

Stretford never did answer about whether or not the people of Lebanon, Jordan and Syria should also be killed and or leave for Israel to take their land. It seems he supports that as well. More bloodshed

I don't think anyone on this forum is claiming they know how to resolve this situation. But as a point of fact, who are the negotiators attempting to resolve it? The party that exercises overwhelming military and economic power, Israel, is waging a war of annihilation in Gaza, while systematically expanding in the West Bank, and has systematically kicked the can of a settled agreement down the road since its right-wing swing in the 1990s. And the predominant global power, Israel's supporter, envisages clearing Gaza entirely of Palestinians and building high-end beachfront real estate for the international jet set in its place. What's a diplomat to do faced with those intentions?

They have huge influence and Europeans have a guilt as well which has given Israel free rein to do as they please in any manner they please. There is no rules for them or any laws they have to abide by. It’s insanity.

Tbh this is going to be going on for many decades and life times. There is no end to this madness. Humanity will always be at war and that region will always see war. It’s never gonna end especially as it’s in many peoples interests.
