Rooney

Liverpool fan in peace. I think that Wayne Rooney is the most gifted English player of this generation but I wondered what United fans think of him playing so deep. This season, he is dropping further and further back to the point that he is often picking up the ball from deep in his own half and acting as a playmaker rather than a striker. I think his best positions are either as a target man as he was used to such great effect two seasons ago, or "in the hole" just behind the main striker. I think for him to drop so deep he is having to work too hard and you are not going to see the best of him. What do you United fans think?

League one ?

Which Premiership teams currently in the bottom half of the league would you love to swap our midfield with...?

Rooney would boss the midfield, he would be everywhere, hunting down players making tackles, pinging scholes like balls around, shooting from distance, tracking back etc.....

I am sure this idea is not new to SAF, but he can obviously see reasons not to go down this route.

Captain, again I ask you if you are predicting that United will be relegated this season. Everything you post points to this conclusion.

sorry i did that wrong

4-5-1..
Carrick protecting the back four. I reckon that lineup looks fairly strong

Like it. That's how we should take the next at Everton. We've got battered at GP recently.

Imagine two Rooneys as our center midfielders...beat everyone yeahHe scores many goals but is not an out and out striker...

Rooney is wated up front alone, specially when they can't get the ball up...see that's what he is really good at..
