Well I suppose its the term is the debate then, I already said in an earlier post City are the form team so if we use that as a basis then its them... if we use recent glory then its quite easily United... if we use a mix its probably United again

I guess hafjur is a 'new' United fan, he certainly does not fit the description of what I deem as a 'proper' United fan.

That is, people who know their club and understand that football is/has been good and bad, people who recognise good times but can also appreciate bad times and recognize that United are not infallible, people who can criticise their club knowing that their criticism is, or is believed to be constructive etc etc

He is just an idiot imo who lacks the necessary attributes to be a United fan...

To get back to your last point about City/United, I can honestly not see anything other than City winning the PL this year, they are too strong imo, the derby result was a one-off with regards to the scoreline but I did fancy City to win that game, a six-pointer imo!

Anyway, you guys have been spoilt with success, it's time it was shared around, unfortunately, or fortunately for you lot the arabs plumped for City, imagine if they had gone for Liverpool...

Jesus lads! a power shift would mean City finishing above United CONSISTENTLY over a number of years, for the power to have shifted, not beating United in 9th game of a 38 game season.

TBH like I said in an article I wrote the defeats make the victorys all the sweeter...

United fans really have been spoilt over the years, City fans are starting to notice themselves that its slowly happening to them (that is if they are not beating 'lowly' teams the fans can get anxious and unhappy whereas before they would have just been more supportive of the team)

I do still think United can win the title, I am certainly not as confident as I was of it before I probably wouldn't write I think United will win the title (and believe it) but then I wouldn't write the same about City...

It may be more hope than belief but atm I am unsure... City do look pretty unstoppable at the moment though...

I actually think the 'power shift' has already happened!

City can now outbid, outpay and can go after targets that United can not afford.

The fact that United have more replica trophies in their cabinet than City clearly does not hinder City's ability to attract the very best players, United used to have the most money and could spend more than their rivals, e.g Rio, Rooney...now City have the advantage, swings and roundabouts!

You are changing the conditions once again Billybob, now you are using cash as the decider on the best club in Manchester ?

In that case it has been City for the last few years but slowly it is coming back around to United, as the FFP rules draw closer City will have to rely on their own money (like City do) but the difference is United earn more (even with Uniteds debts and Citys big sponsorship deal) and spend less... so over the next few years we will have alot more spare cash floating around to spend on extra wages or transfer fees...

Whether we will go out and use that extra money is another matter though... we do mostly go for young talent than big name stars (usually seen as stars in the making but more Aguero of a good few years ago purchase than this summer)

I just think the shift should relate to what happens on the pitch, once City get the upper hand (consistently) and compete with United, and beat United over a prolonged period of time then a power shift would have occured, in my opinion anyway.

I agree with the "swings and roundabouts" comment at the end though, i commented on an article a few hours after the game saying that a result like this could actually be good for some of our fans and supporters, no team can have it there own way all the time ,sometimes you get mauled at home,but you get behind the team even more and move on. It's already been said, but us United supporters have been spoilt over the past 20 years or so and if City do take over it will hopefully separate the 'true' reds from the johnny come lately fans and i will actually be able to get a ticket to an away match once in a 'blue moon'......pun intended btw.
