Interesting how 2+2 gets taken to equal 5.
Let's look at it clearly. Administration, IF it were to happen, means 10pts. That's it. As Whyte is secured creditor, he controls all the assets. The existing company which owns Rangers goes bust, transferring all the assets to another, Whyte owned company.
For anything like the CQN predicted situation to happen, Rangers would have to be liquidated. This is the only way a Newco COULD apply to take up the vacant SPL slot.
That would when then horsetrading would start.
The SPL is extremely unlikely to cut their own throats.
Personally, I do not think it will come to that, or anywhere close.
But just as nobody outside the HMRC or Rangers actually KNOW the situation, I don't and neither does anyone on CQN, here, Phil Mcwhathisname, RTC etc etc etc.
All speculation & rumour.
Nothing more.

Yes...but it's good to speculate, that's why we're here
What's your take on Rangers having cash flow problems.... NOW????
A few Bears have posted on it

I do not know if we do or do not have cash flow problems. I do not work for Rangers.
Yes, there is a chunky amount now ring-fenced, which would put a dent in any football club's cash flow, so obviously it would seem it is clearly reduced.
Is it reduced to "danger" levels? No idea. But to have such a situation with no evidence of such coming from disgruntled employees (as it does constantly from Hearts), would be strange.
Admin is clearly a realistic outcome if we lose the big tax case. No club outside the EPL top 6 or 8 could finance a £40 - £50m payment immediately without that possibility.
Will it get to that - again, no idea.
Time, and only time, will tell. Until then, I just concentrate on the football, and not worry too much about stuff I cannot control.

Arsenal settled BEFORE court action was raised...as would Rangers have, if they had the spondola
Rangers have no option but to risk a court case
HMRC have evidence of the EBT's being paid back into individual players accounts. Not what the EBT scheme was about

From what I gather Whyte must put Rangers into admin before the taxcase is decided or loose control of proceedings in the event of loosing the case.
I would imagine the steps can be in place should the case seem to be going bad to take this as a last resort mid case.

rangers offered to settle in jan, HNRC refused our offer of 10m
+++++
Can't say I can remember that, mate...who was paying the £10m??

TCD............the offer of £10 million was made by rangers to HMRC but refused.

Got to wonder why, though!
If the gossip going around is true, the case could be the least of their problems
