the best/worst/funniest paragraph in that joke of an article was.
"However, Record Sport undertsands Rangers would fight tooth and nail against any move to impose more than the statutory 10 point penalty."
Well, I never.
I guess he has an exclusive from inside Ibrox. Good to know he is keeping us in the picture then.
had a look at this, and for me thats incredible i usually avoid the record like the f'n plague.
"And should the Ibrox side have to start again under a new name it is possible all of those points would come off before the end of this season."
correct me if im wrong here, but if rangers were to start again under a new name, would they not have to start from scratch? would they get to take the old rangers points with them?
This isn't news, it's information. News reflects and reports current events, information is data like in a car manual.
Shug's had a deadline, no leads or contacts to get a scoop so he's sat down and wrote an if/but/maybe piece based on no new information.
Go you Shug!! Another day closer to the end.....
(p.s. I think he's brilliant on Clyde, he gets the psycho's who phone in foaming every night)
Westend, you've hit the nail on the head.
It is a desperate, scrambled together at deadline back page story conjured out of nothing, but written in a way to be as sensational as possible.
Keevin's is far better as a shock jock
Clearly the Record are trying to be sensational again in order to capture a readership which has been obliterated in the past years. Of course the Sports Editor would have sanctioned it: I believe the editor is actually Jim Traynor! This will probably back-fire.

Dos,
We're just proletariats that don't like to see the system abused
Dos,
Spot on mate, you should be relegated.

Its odds on a vote would follow the money but it only needs take 2 chairman to take the hump to mean Rangers starting again.
We just can't have teams going under and re-emerging into the same position...
Futbol. Club de Ranjurs v East Stirling...you could play that at Murray Park
TCD I think East Stirling is the bookies favourite to be bought over and rebranded
Interesting how 2+2 gets taken to equal 5.
Let's look at it clearly. Administration, IF it were to happen, means 10pts. That's it. As Whyte is secured creditor, he controls all the assets. The existing company which owns Rangers goes bust, transferring all the assets to another, Whyte owned company.
For anything like the CQN predicted situation to happen, Rangers would have to be liquidated. This is the only way a Newco COULD apply to take up the vacant SPL slot.
That would when then horsetrading would start.
The SPL is extremely unlikely to cut their own throats.
Personally, I do not think it will come to that, or anywhere close.
But just as nobody outside the HMRC or Rangers actually KNOW the situation, I don't and neither does anyone on CQN, here, Phil Mcwhathisname, RTC etc etc etc.
All speculation & rumour.
Nothing more.
Yes...but it's good to speculate, that's why we're here
What's your take on Rangers having cash flow problems.... NOW????
A few Bears have posted on it
I do not know if we do or do not have cash flow problems. I do not work for Rangers.
Yes, there is a chunky amount now ring-fenced, which would put a dent in any football club's cash flow, so obviously it would seem it is clearly reduced.
Is it reduced to "danger" levels? No idea. But to have such a situation with no evidence of such coming from disgruntled employees (as it does constantly from Hearts), would be strange.
Admin is clearly a realistic outcome if we lose the big tax case. No club outside the EPL top 6 or 8 could finance a £40 - £50m payment immediately without that possibility.
Will it get to that - again, no idea.
Time, and only time, will tell. Until then, I just concentrate on the football, and not worry too much about stuff I cannot control.

Arsenal settled BEFORE court action was raised...as would Rangers have, if they had the spondola
Rangers have no option but to risk a court case
HMRC have evidence of the EBT's being paid back into individual players accounts. Not what the EBT scheme was about

From what I gather Whyte must put Rangers into admin before the taxcase is decided or loose control of proceedings in the event of loosing the case.
I would imagine the steps can be in place should the case seem to be going bad to take this as a last resort mid case.
